Things that don't fit anywhere else...

I dont subscribe to the view that if a group is predominantly black (or any other race colour or creed) you cannot say anything about their behaviour.

I said earlier that I didnt think the subject of the post was a from good reliable source, however if true he had every right to say it.

Implying any group is all bad is wrong and bigoted.

But the implication that nothing bad should be said because they are predominantly black is madness.

The bag story may or may not be true, its spreading though, this is how urban legends form.

Bush was asked what he thought about Roe versus Wade. And he said they were BOTH great ways for the poor to evacuate New Orleans.

To my buddy who IM'd me this bit of historical trivia, I'm sure you don't need any recognition:

I'm confident that letting me bring this out to world on your behalf is enough for you.

And to stray back to politics (though not US politics) who noticed the first political fall-out of Katrina?

Some German commentators are attributing part of the poorer-than-expected showing of the right-wing parties in the German election to a voter reaction to the response to Katrina - along the lines of "if that's what low-tax small-government policies get you, we don't want it".

Judging by the way they dealt with some major flooding last year (or the one before, I forget), the German emergency response is just what you'd expect from their national stereotype.

And I have to ask: do you guys get to find out about Cuba's emergency response program? Pretty slick, it would seem.
