Hey, I really enjoy looking through this website so far. Im planning on building a tear drop for my wife and I to travel around the country in next year. I've found a lot of cool ideas from all these posts. Thanks a lot.

hey Tyson,
Welcome to the forum. I just got thru with mine and its the most fun you can do with your clothes on  Building that is :) 4 months and about $1700.00 to complete.
What kind are you building? I used a Tractor Supply-no-floor trailer and started with 300.00 worth of ply/wood. Within a week I was putting up my walls. Here is where my build/camping pics are; http://s215.photobucket.com/albums/cc145/panheadjohn60/ and some here; http://www.gearztv.com/index.php?conten ... c=12_14178.
We, Linda and I, named it "Costa Lotta-the reason so much of the month is left at the end of the money!" Enjoy your build!!!

Hey John,
I actually haven't been able to start my build yet as I am in school for a few more months. I am planning on using a Red trailer for now unless someone convinses me otherwise. As far as a plan, im not so sure about that either.
:) I've got about three more months untill i can start on it, so im going to get as much info here as i can and we'll see what I come up with!
Your camper looks great!

red trailer

Postby John T. Hodgen » Fri Jun 05, 2009 5:20 pm

Hey Tyson,
I used the TSC trailer cuz when I bought mine they were $299.00-now they go for $349.00 no floor. I only paid $270.00 for mine because I didn't get it registered right then, I told them that I was using it on my farm and wasn't going to use it on the road but I did get all paperwork to register it. When I was ready it cost me less than 50.00 to register it when I knew that it was turning into a camper instead of firewood.
I see that ur in Fl. I moved from Port Orange/Daytona after Bikeweek 2008. Had enough of the police in the area due to being tied up with a CRAZY woman. What school are you in?

IM currently going to Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Orlando. I've got three more months and then ill be heading up to MI where my wife is from. I hope to build the tear up there and find a job as a tech for a while.
Side note: I think you moved out of Daytona just in time they got about two and a half feet of rain in about a week :D

Hey Tyson,
I figured that you were going thru a motorcycle school because I don't know of many ending their school year in July/Aug. Which brand are you tech-ing for? I've riden since I was 11 and just had to sell my 2000 Kawa 1500 Nomad due to medical reasons and that it was killing my arms becausue its so heavy. I'm now 54 so that makes 43 yrs of riding. :applause: I've had 3 Kawa's(650kz,1000policespecial,1500nomad)-3 Harleys(1000i/hsport.,1000i/hsport.,60 pan)-1 honda Nighthawk-1 650 Bsa Chopper and rode many others of my brothers. My medical problems are from a little girl during Biktoberfest running a redlight in 2000 and I t-bone her, destroyed my policespecial and I did 2 flips over her car-came close to dying if the car coming from the other d1rection hadn't stop in time to keep from pinning me between it and the car I just flew over :worship:
Sorry about rambling--keep up the go work!!!
