Well Guys,
I just cancelled also. I sure was looking forward to seeing everyone and meeting new memebers and their tears.
We will put teardrop inside our large shop, put welder /generator outside the door, set up the propane stove, lantern etc. Just in case we need it all. I'm sure we will be without power at some point.
I will keep you all in my prayers as the weekend approaches.
Hope to see you guys at a gathering in the future. We aren't available untill the spring.
God Bless
Linda and Charles

Keep your head down, Linda. We'll keep you in our prayers.

Regrets

The Brooks bunch from Houston is bailing out. I just called to canx our reservations. Figured since Austin area hotels are full, someone may need the camp site more than we do. Worst possible case, we visit our youngest at OSU. Hope everyone along the Coast gets where they're going safely. No way I want to be on the freeway after today's drive home!

Well I heard the closest gas station to my house was out of gas. As soon as the truck arrived I filled up all of our small gas cans. $65 was out of my purse before I knew it. That should keep the welder/generator running for a little while at least (if or when our elec. goes out).

Hey guys....I'm near the projected area of landfall. I'm evacuating today sometime. I was hoping to come by Inks Lake this weekend and drop in and visit for a few hours. But now I need a place to go and it looks like all the State Parks in that area are full. If someone is going to cancel, can we work out a deal so I can have your spot? Or maybe don't cancel and just let me use your spot and I'll send you your money. Anybody got a spot I can park and hook up to electricity for 2 days? If so email me or call me at 361-655-4898. I would really appreciate it. I'm gonna have to leave my tear drop behind and take the 24 footer instead.

TXTurbo,

When most of us canceled yesterday the people at the park said they were canceling all reservations to make room for people coming from the coast. If you were to talk to them they would probably have a space for you since you are evacuating.

Greg,

It really was disappointing. We did have a good sized gathering planned. We'll just have to plan another one. Three of us got into Cedar Hill SP. I figure it's close enough to home to just pack up and go home if weather get's bad.

This morning the forcast has changed a little. The new projected path of the storm has it going closer to Galveston and then more into East Texas, so Greg, y'all need to secure things up there and make preperations now.

GOSH! :( We DID have a great group gathering. Have to plan the next one. I just went up and registered at Cedar Hill. I am on 147 and he said there are several sites in that area open. Also, being concerned about others evacuating and not wanting to take their space, was told they are not full up even with reservations yet. In addition, there is one entire section closed for the season which they will open if needed. :)

My son just called and told me to take care of stuff here - if the track is headed this way. Am not too worried about Dallas if the current projections are correct. A bit of wind and rain - Anyway, good luck to all!
