I you are trying to come up with an idea of what to design it your going outside of the emvelope, Like I did. You might look at designs you like that are not trailers like this site of world of woodies

The page it goes to is Nashes of the 40-50"s I woke up this morning thinking of an old nash not these bodies but one more with an arch over the intire thing. If you look at the area from the back of the hood back it could be a trailer.

I was thinking of the 1949 Nash offering the most teardorp like sideview.

many of the images of concept sports cars offer better air flow designs though pulling a trailer the pulling unit takes care of most of the air flow

Under images in google: "Classic trailer", trailer, arch, old cars, old wood boats, concept boats or cars or even plans could cause a spark.

Just understand you will have a frame with wheels, Walls, doors, windows, vents, and it has to be comfortable to sleep in.
Once you understand that making a trailer is not like a house lighter materials, and what you make it out of.

Once you have made one you realize the eaz of making a second one. If you help someone else build theirs you will have a better concept of what you are doing and that you have the skills and machines to do it.
Just remeber
1. that you will be the one who will be using it, sleeping in it, cooking out of it.
2. This trailer you will be pulling down the road at more then 45 even though in most states that is the spead limit for such trailers. I have pulled mine up to 75.
3. that you will be spending the rest of your life or it's improving it, Painting it, pstching it.
4. you will be making many new friends and may get pulled over so the man with the badge can get a closer look at it.
5. You will be saving pots of money over motel rooms but the restroom may not be as clean.
6. Parking will be a little harder, turning corners a little wider, stopping may not be as short, And everyone and there borther will be watching you as you drive by or as they pass you.
6. You will be proud as punch (old turm) as you pull it down the road, park it, and camp in it bceause it is something you made yourself.

If you buy yours you will have many of the same feelings these trailers never seem to age people will always stop turn and ask about it.
I have pulled mine all over CA been to NM and AZ with it.

This odd little trailer is what inspired me to build the Box Kite as I had.



I kept it close to the Teardrop design in the front but the rear opens wide but no tent pops out as of yet.

the Kampster is also a Teardrop that inspired my build, True I can not stand up in it but that large flat wood in the back swings up and I have a so called back porch we can stand under.
As I get My photo's in my album I have a intire set on just custom spare tire holders on old cars.

the fold out step on the tear drop tr with the canvas sides is a nice touch. my build has a rather high floor, more great ideas from this site

This is a larger trailer but from the 30's is shows the interior it was the first true 5th wheel it used a aircraft wheel on it's side in the trunk of the pull car as the hitch.

Curtis was the manufacturer. it does give one thought as to how much control you do have over its over all looks.

The Teardrop trailer design remains the best for cost of pulling and having a design that has lasted through the times.

This site will give you many links and an Idea of how many different design have been out there.

In the 30's there was a trailer boom of sorts and deign was at it's hight.

I share these not to confuse you but more to offer a heads up as to what has been done in the past.

You are the future and The Teardrop maybe all you need cheep to pull basics for sleeping and eating. does not take up much storage space and you forget you are pulling it at times.

Trailers have changed so much as has the design of the car but what the hell it's fun to look.
