Teardrop frames

Postby Larry & Jill » Thu Jun 11, 2009 7:45 pm

I looked at Tractor Supply and Harbor Freight trailer frames. I also talked to a local trailer building company. I got the best deal from the local trailer builder. I didn't want the tires and wheels or the wireing and lights that come with them as I am not going to use them. The trailer builder built me a square channel frame with 2000 lb axle for less than the store bought. I bought the tires and wheels I wanted at Jegs and Wallmart.
So if your looking for a frame to build on, check for a local trailer building company. Or I can recomend one here in Ohio. Image Image

:applause: Very nice! The wheels are cool too.

I have a HF trailer that I use for parts but am getting a local guy to fab one for my teardrop. By the way, it should be finished today.

Wheel and tire size?

Postby jjlentz » Sun Jun 14, 2009 8:51 pm

Hey Larry,
The frame looks great!!! I'm in the process of figuring out all of my frame dimensions, axle, etc... What size wheels and tires are those? Looks like a nice fit....

The wheels are Cragar chrome smoothies 14x7 from Jeggs and the tires are P205 75 R 14 from Wal Mart. The wheels have a Chevy and Ford bolt pattern and they come with the hubcap.

very nice -- I like the simple clean look!

Can those wheels be got in a 13" size?
