The first part of my nickname "Pooh" was given to me by my dispatchers when I was a Wyoming Highway Patrolman. The "105" was my badge number on the Patrol. That plus the fact I drive a bright yellow Toyota FJ towing an equally bright yellow teardrop! You can also spot my truck due to the 3' Pooh riding shotgun  .

God I love the single life! :hammerhead:

When I was a kid, my dad would call me Satch from the Bowery Boys because of the way a wore my cap. Sounds corny, I know!

I named my Puck, Reba. Most seem to think I'm a Reba McEntyre fan. No. Reba is an Eriba Puck.

Walt, given to me by my dad. I was named after a friend who saved his life while swimming. But it's a good thing he named me Walt because thats what everybody calls me.

Chose mine 'cause because not only am I going to build a teardrop camp trailer specifically to tow behind my Ford Focus automobile, I have rather serendipitously modified the Focus to be a great tug with it's factory 2.3 all alloy 'banger and the addition of huge brakes, lower, firmer suspension and superior suspension damping. All she needs now is a custom hitch setup and the appropriate trailer wiring, which will also be kewstome.

I ended up with mine a few years back when I was trying to pick my first E Mail address. Everything I could think of that had my name in it was taken. At the time I had a Porsche Spyder kit car. I ended up trying that and it was taken. Tried it with AZ on the front for Arizona and it went. Since then that combo has been available for selections on Ebay, different E Mail providers and any forum I have visited. The car is long gone but the name is still used so I don't have to try to be creative and think of something else.

"senior ninja" is actually short for Senior Citizen Ninja."
My son loved playing Ninjas.
One day I put on an all black jogging suit and jumped down half a flight of stairs into his and his friends midst exclaiming "Senior Citizen Ninja!" It got a big laugh.

Back in the good o'l days...Many long years ago...As a hormone driven teenager in high school I was intent on making the acquaintance of as many members of the fairer sex as I could manage. So many women, so little time. Then I met Nancy. Ahhhh, Nancy. Nancy was all class. She was far out of my league. She was a "nice" girl in every sense of the word. We dated a few times. I never got anywhere with her. On one of our last dates she told me that her mother had told her that in her search for her Prince Charming she would encounter and kiss a few frogs along the way and that I was a professional frog. Profrog was born.

Well I just joined today. I'm in the UK and have bought somebody's home built teardrop.
Just getting into the idea and enjoying reading about all you folks.
My name? Well it has 'tear' in it and I plan to get 'away' - hence tear-away!
Pretty simple really - I'm surprised nobody else thought of it.
In fact most usernames I choose on the web, the software goes on for ever saying the name is taken. Pretty amazing eh, when you choose gdhsnchrj687!!
Have a nice day!

Postby Roly Nelson » Thu Jul 30, 2009 12:23 am

My Mom knew a cute little boy over in Sweden when she was a little girl. and his name was Roland. Damn, and she had to hang that name on me when I was born. Now I would have to wear a tie, if folks called me by that name, so as long ago as I can remember, I have been called Roly. Not pronounced Rolly, (like in Holly, but Roly, like in Holy)

In all of my travels and of any of the guys that I have met in the construction trades, I have never met another Roly. Actually, it is kind of nice, calling a busy building inspector in downtown Los Angeles and telling him "Hi, this is Roly........and he know exactly who hs is talking to. Folks mispronounce it often, making it sound like Raw-Lee, not Row-Lee.

To help them remember how it is supposed to be pronounced, (if I am going to have more than a short friendship with them), I tell them the following: Imagine being in a row boat with Robert E Lee, and we are about to be swept over Niagra Falls, and he is the only one with oars. At this time they would be shouting my name, as loudly as they could.......ROW LEE! This always gets a snicker and also gets the name remembered correctly.
:? Roly, not Rolly, Rollie, Rawleigh, Ronald, Ronnie, Ron or Roll, Just Roly, with a long "O"
