I'm with Mad Jack, the pellet gun works well for me. When I was putting on my addition the little red buggers were getting into the house left and right. (don't see any around these days) Walt

Trap him and take him to someone elses pear tree.

I spent a whole summer trapping and relocating 68 squirrells from my backyard. Then I decided it would be easier to take down the birdfeeder. Now I just have the hot pepper suet.

Don't know if this works or not, just read it but may be worth a try.

Sounds like something for MJ

Cajun Squirrel

~ squirrels, cut into serving pieces, amount depends upon how many you can eat
~ olive oil
~ 1 large onion
~ 1 large green bell pepper
~ 2 cloves garlic
~ Cajun spice (Tony Chachere's recommended)
~ 2 tbsp Tabasco sauce
~ 4 tbsp ketchup
~ 1 tbsp Gumbo File seasoning
~ cooked rice

In a deep pot or dutch oven, heat some olive oil.

Season the squirrel on all sides with the Cajun seasoning. Add to the hot oil and turn to brown on all sides. Continue to cook until done.

Place the onion, bell pepper and garlic in a blender. Cover with water and chop. Add to the pot when squirrel is done.

Sprinkle the added vegetables with Cajun seasoning.

Add the Tabasco sauce, ketchup and the Gumbo File. Stir to mix well.

Serve over the cooked rice.

Enjoy.

*The only otha' thang you would need is some hot-wata-cornbread, muh, muh, muh!

I think that I may mothball in knee highs first. If I trap the squirrel or shoot at him, he may go "Caddy Shake" on me like his cousin the mole.

Wal-Greens, here I come!

Depending on the height of tree branches from the ground (out of jump range) simply wrap a piece of aluminum or other metal around the tree so he can not climb.
I had one get into the garage where I am restoring a Saab Sonett and the little bugger did a bunch of damage. I put out a rat trap baited with peanut butter. The trap has disappeared and no more sign of the little bugger, including his corpse

When the blossoms have been pollenated, tie a bottle over them until they are ready to pick. Sell them for big bucks.

On the other end of the scale of wanting to eat it, then just get rat poison and mix with Peanut Butter let them enjoy it until... and it will dry them out in a few days.

If you catch him, be sure to take him more than 15 miles away. The pest control people told me that he would find his way back if it was anything less.

ya is the tree close to a other if not do try Put moth balls in knee high stockings and tie to various places around the tree, and also put a few at the base of the tree. They hate the smell and will not go near the tree. Also, bugs hate the smell too, so it is great for fruit trees or pecan trees and a large steel cone half way up the trunk before the first branch. I did this for my cherry tree and it stopped that thief. I did have to shoot the crowes.
