Hi im from the south east of England (essex)
and im just in the prosses of building up the parts for a teardrop 8)
so far all i have got is 2 caravan doors to cut and shut into little doors one on each side,

im hoping to make my TD look like its rolled off a production line rather than look home built, i LOVE those little guy TD's, but i sadly cant aford one of them

heres a quick somthing i have thrown together in sketch up just to get a feel for it,

unsure yet if i will have a gally hatch at the rear, but we will defonatly be fitting a storage tunnel right in the rear corner the full width of the TD and the doors will be thetford toilet access hatch doors (for storing the pop up gazebo ect...)

what do you think? :D

Hi Tone-from essex. Looks like you have a good idea regarding what your new build will look like. Remember, in order to be considered a teardrop trailer, you have to be able to sleep in it, you can't stand up in it, and by all means, you must have a hatchlid that opens to an outside kitchen. Folks build all sorts of camping trailers, and I encourage you to design and construct whatever suits your needs. You might want to really consider having an outside galley. We often spend more time outside than inside, and what better way is there to meet fellow campers?

I say, welcome to the board, you'll be glad you found us. We can answer most any question you can think of and are a bunch of friendly people also. Good luck on your build, take pics and post em, then come on over and make your maiden voyage across the pond, so we can see what a real UK build looks like. I like the profile, and wonder what exterior material you plan on using.
Roly 8)

thanks guys, i did think about wheels but with all this rubish weather we get over here i thought it best to leave them off and the TD can float on all the rain water :R lol nah its just a quick sketch... :) there will be wheels

im still not sure on a rear hatch Roly Nelson... a hatch would make more sence but on the other hand the pop up gazebo could house a fold up camping table for a small stove ect.... its how we did things in the tent a few years ago...
im hopeing to be able to find a UK suplier for FILON / PHYLON / FYLON (or what ever its called  ) or as close a product to it as i can...

that or i will GLASS the outside andhave it sprayed white so it looks like car paint work... but that will involve a heck of a lot of sanding and filling...

Mukilteo: ahh chelmsford, thats just up the road from me, about a 20 min drive!

It looks like your off to a great start
