Help with pictures

Postby Chris C » Sun Sep 25, 2005 3:18 pm

I'd like to chronicle the building of my teardrop just as many others have done before me. However, I prefer to use Yahoo Photos as my album source. How do I use that and still have members of the Forum access it when they go to look at my album on the site?

Not being a Yahoo user, I'm not really sure... But I've read here several times of mention to make your album "public" so members here can veiw it.

It is "public". I just need to know how to set my album so it automatically directs members to it when they click on "album" on the Forum.

"Album" on the forum is a link to your personal album here on the forum.
You will need to post a link to your Yahoo ablum... putting that link in your signature bar or posting it as a link to "your" website in your profile would be a good place to post it.

Okay Dean. I got the Hillbilly Teardrop into my personal album on the Forum, but can't seem to find a way to embed it with a message. As far as my first request, I realized I was asking the wrong question. What I meant was....... in the Hall of Fame, Ross Wade, Joseph's Tin Roof Woody, and Chip's TPO all go directly to a Yahoo photo album when I click on the pictures...........how did they do that? Guess I was just assuming it was the same with their personal albums.

Chris,

If you click on 'Profile' above, you can paste the Yahoo Photos address into the box titled 'Website' (about a third of the way down) and then a 'www' button will appear under each post you make, linking to the Yahoo album. That's how the link under this message to my website works.

I found out (the hard way) that you cannot link to pictures stored in Yahoo pictures. For example, you have a pic stored there. You cannot make a post here in the forum and have the pic show up in your post. Other than that little problem it is cheap (free is always good) and easy to do.

Chris, that hillbilly rig in your profile pics looks like it would be pretty comfy....and it's got survival gear hanging on the sides.

That strap tied to the second story of the trailer must be there to keep it from blowing off.

On edit: Oops, if I'd pay attention I'd see you've got a post about it.

Hi Chris

This is the address to the Hillbilly picture from the other post

http://tnttt.com/album_ ... ic_id=3035

How do you get the address? go into your album, double click the photo so it apears alone on a screen, copy the address in the address bar, if you simply paste in as above it automatically becomes a useable URL which can be clicked to view the picture.

>><<

If you typed in the above do not include the arrows (>><<) and paste the address inside it will show up at the picture

To save typing press the Img button then paste the address in then pressthe image button again.

Just to be sure,

To Copy: Highlight by click-dragging mouse over the word, address, etc. Once highlighted you can either right-click then select copy in the drop down menu OR press Ctrl-c

To Paste: Click your cursor where you want the text, then either right-click then select paste in the drop down menu OR press Ctrl-v

Once you start doing this you will never type a long URL again.

Mike, I'm not ready for the HOF yet. I just finished my frame yesterday. I'll just add a web address link under my signature for a build journal. I'll want a "proper" picture of the finished tear in the HOF. Thanks anyway.
