New from Knoxville, Tennessee

Postby RonnieNjeana » Tue Jun 23, 2009 12:01 pm

Hey everyone. We passed a little guy on the road about a month ago during a night out on the town. We spent our whole night out talking about whether or not we could build one. We came home, checked the LG website, then ebay, then google and wow!!! Spent the next day at various camper lots, none on hand :(
Then we found this site!!! We are ready to do this!
Hubby actually had a frame that we could use. We are so pumped about getting started.
Anytime we build/repair anything we fight argue and threaten to divorce about a million times, but in the end we are always pleased with our project and end up deciding no one else would put up with us. So after 20 years together, and refurbishing three houses, building a few dog houses, a tree house, couple of decks, a 28 foot camping trailer, various bathrooms, attics, etc....we are building a TD!
Everyone has been so helpful and friendly so far. Hope that only gets better!!!

Welcome, to the crazy place. Write down your thoughts, draw(as best you can) an idea, ask questions. Things are easy to change on paper than they are during the build. Look in the hall of fame, check out the library. find a manual(maybe a couple) see what type of construction method you like. Steve Fredricks has a great manual on cd. IMHO. he's got a sticky in the "general build" section. Have fun, as my daughter would say "No Fight".upon completion, when you laying in the tear, you want to have nice memories of how you two were able to build your little love nest. But then again you could be laying in there alone thinking boy it's great to have all this room to myself. Either way, post many pics. Blessings, Walt

Ronnie, Oh what a pretty face! welcome to the forum. Now you have been bitten by the bug, just like the rest of us. Get started on that teardrop trailer as soon as you can. The sooner it is finished, the sooner you will be sharing a campfire with a bunch of fellow campers, who will want to take a peek at the interior of your very special camping trailer. Good luck on your build, take pics and post em. We are waiting.........

Go ahead and fight. Dad told me a long time ago the key is not to go to bed mad. Really a great piece of advise with two in a tear. Have fun with your build

Jim
I need a new Avatar. I'd put my dog up there but she doesn't look much like me. She's the skinny one.

Actually that's jeana in the picture, and thank you! We are very anxious to get this completed. We have vacation coming up next week and I swear if it wasn't for the fact we already had plans, I think Ronnie and I would just as soon stay home and work on the TD....kids wouldn't go for that though.

Of course it's Jeana in the picture. how could I have been so mistaken. I have a friend named Ronnie and I guess she swayed my thinking. Good luck on your build, enjoy your efforts and be prepared to beat off on-lookers with a stick. Take pics, post em and enjoy.
