How do you explain the fact that as the Fed. bails-out the Old Auto Industry in it's worst sale era ever. Lousiana gets to open it's doors to a whole new approach regarding auto manufacturing. Where's Mad Jack I love to hear what he thinks. Walt

...inna State long known for shady deals and political hanky panky, I will just havvta wait, with much skepticism to see what comes about...our Governor(a republican with presidential aspirations) has announced plans to spend around 60+ million from the states rainy day fund to back an unknown companie to build "green" cars...do I smell old rotted fish...hmmmmmmmm...the plan is to renovate an old Guide headlight plant to manufacturer, a here to now unseen/unknown green car with little or no details about just what they are planning to build...some big money has jumped into this, including T Boone Pickens, the former VP of Oracle and some high powered venture capitalists...between them and the state/local govt, around 160million has been ponied up along with an application for another 250+million from the feds...I'll believe, when vehicles start rolling off the line!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a conservative, I've gotten most of my info from the web. There's a lot of private money going into this . I don't think it's a "Let's use a public grant and see if we can make it happen" Much like the Air America radio network Gore tried. I understand this company has been working on this for two years. the lead designer is from Mazda (he designed the miata) T Boone Pickens is no slouch. I too will take a wait and see attitude. but I hope they can pull a td. I own a Town & Country and a 3500 Dodge Ram. But I'm ready to downsize. After 20 yrs, I'm No longer interested in buying another Dodge, or a Chevy for that matter. I'm ready to pack my tools, a couple of guitars, and travel this great country meet people do odd jobs and maybe even get an oportunity to praise God through some music in some different churches. Walt, there are a lot of VERY legitimate folks behind this deal...my skepticism comes from years of viewing La political trash going down and the 18-24mo time frame to bring this car out...I do know, our present Gov is a young, Republican go getter with national aspirations...he has given this his blessing and I am sure he has vetted this outfit....a scam would blow a HUGE hole in his future political plans...as I said, take a few realllllly deep breaths and see what happens...I wish 'em luck in what is sure to be a formidable undertaking.........
