Build-em strong!!!

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

That's the North American Elephant Wolf... or, "horsewolf" where I come from...

I'm not building my tear to keep those lightweights out; I'm building mine to slow down the 20-inch diameter grizzly paw with nine-inch spikes attached to it.

Even then, I don't think any vehicle short of an armored would stand a chance.

Your thoughts, almighty hunter?

I agree. PhotoShop.

Happens too frequently to not suspect it. Wolf is not in the same focus as the man.

Look up the timber wolf and you'll find out that they are a 200+lb animal.

The one in that first picture would have to be considerably more than 200 lbs. He's have to be a helluva man to hold him up like that. Look close at the edges of the animal...it's chopped.

I will not get into the livestock predation aspect of this, but the size thing is a whole 'nother matter. I looked up the timberwolf as urged because the suggestion of wolves of more than 200# did not square with extensive reading I did about them some 20 years ago. Admittedly, I looked in Wikipedia just 'cause it was easy. Nevertheless, this is what I found: The typical North American wolf is 80# with the female being about 20% smaller than the male. The largest N.A. wolf ever recorded was 175# (Alaska, 1939). The largest wolf outside N.A. was in the Soviet Union after WWII--189#. As far as attacking humans, very rare in N.A., especially by healthy animals, though not so rare in pre-industrialized Europe and Asia.

I'm hardly a raging tree-hugger, but this kind of disinformation probably does more harm than good to the ranchers' cause. If it was intentional, it is shameful. If unintentional, it is unprofessional at best.

Best regards,
Tom

Did anyone consider that the guy might be less than 5 feet tall?
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

The gentleman in the first photo looks a lot like this guy: http://pawneewillow.shutterfly.com/62

This is a gentleman who sells wolf/hybrids so it could be another picture of him. A 200 pound wolf seems highly unlikely.

FYI, Powderburn has asked to be removed from this board permanently because we just have too darn much of a socialistic aura for his tastes...since we aim to please as much as possible and this is his second such request, this wish/request will be honored...........

Jack...honor his request! For those of you that haven't been on here that long, we have gone through this scenerio ( through PM's both times) with this member previously, as I recall, this is a replay of the first go around.

There are several threads recently locked that explain what this forum is about and what it isn't. It is a privately owned entity and as a moderator, we are upholding the rules of the forum as set forth. As previously mentioned, there are plenty of sites to go to and have any discussions that one might want to have. This member realized again, that this one isn't for them. He wanted to be let go, his choice. Doug
