Facebook... is it worth it? I need your help!

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Sorry, should have mentioned. The direct link/personalized URL is a new feature. It will probably prompt you to add it at some point.

It hasn't prompted me yet...

Still trying to get my head around this one... I've added a few friends, and all of a sudden I've got so much information...

for example Lisa and Glenn are still doing their endless chats...

Kerry is still using the Kitten with the machine gun

etc, etc, etc!!!

Anyone else here wanna join in?

Sure could use a direct link though...

Lisa, how did you find me?

Mike...

I put your email address in the search field.

I only use FB to keep a line open to my nephews, neices and cousins (recently reconnected with cousins who used to live near Buffalo but now live all over the country.) To give them a way to get me quickly, it works. And I can keep tabs on my nephews :?

But I vastly prefer Twitter, from which I've made some actual professional and hobby contacts. Much easier to use and maintain, and easier to control/monitor. Twitter is like texting and you can start or end at any point in time. It's helped me link up to dog trainers internationally, and to some other campers, and to many other writers. And I can limit it to 15 min. am/pm if I want to keep a lid on the time-wasting part.

I haven't found any spam increase in participation in either Twitter or FB.

Not interested. But I should clarify. I've only used my cell phone twice in the last three years. I don't have anything hanging on my ear. Took the dishwasher out of the house. I don't need a GPS because I can read a map. My music comes out of a radio. I have basic cable. And I actually read books.

I can see how this would be a time consuming thing...

It look like the intent is to see all your friends little comments on a daily basis...

I'm there ... search for oklahomajewel and you'll see me.

Right now , it's a picture of my car and trailer.

There are also some teardrop trailer groups.

I just got on there back around January and have reconnected with school friends from 29+ years ago , old church friends , and keep up with some kids comments.
Some things are way over my head !! ...but it keeps me looking UP!

I tried searching for you, but it's not finding you... it seems to do a good job finding lots of people that you've forgotten over the years, but not such a good job with forum handles...

Mike...

P.S. It did find you via email address though... :phew:

It's very time consuming...especially for me now with no job and lots of time to consume.
I like it though...I keep up with some family members. That is easier when you maybe don't want to really talk to them.

And there is quite a little group of T&TTTers over there already. :D

Facebook has been interesting for me and a huge time killer. People have found me that I thought had dropped off the face of the earth. I definitly like it better than myspace.
The quickest way to find me is on my business site. Yes, I do answer questions and provide quotes for free. Find me at: http://www.wenatcheefarmers.com

On the downside it IS a time consumer, and there are quite a few dumb games, etc.

HOWEVER on the MAJOR plus side I have reconnected with so many old friends and former co-workers (some from almost 20 years ago) it is well worth it for that alone. Even more so all 5 of my siblings, and several cousins and family friends are on there. With the geographic spans between a lot of us the daily opportunity to catch up with them is wonderful.

The biggest thing for me is seeing their photos and 'status updates' and the chance to share in the memory even though I may be several hundred miles away.

It's a hoot and time consuming, however I'd be willing to bet some folks spend way more time on here ;)
