Howdy Everybody

Spent the last couple of weeks reading everything I could on your forum. You folks are some talented men and ladies.

I live in the Houston area and right now we're in a heat wave.

Thanks for sharing all the info with us newbies.

Hi David, welcome to the forum. 6 years ago, I also read everything I could on the message board. I was bitten badly and since have built a couple of teardrop trailers and refurbished a tiny travel trailer. You failed to tell us what your intentions are, do you plan to sketch and change, like the rest of us, then get that trailer and get started on building the teadrop trailer of your own design?

If you plan to build, there are a bunch of places where you can get info about building a trailer, or if you plan to buy one, check out the various manufacturers or go to the trailers that are for sale at the bottom of the page. If you plan to steal one, shame on you.

Ah yes, Texas, I remember it well. During our 1952 honeymoon, the sweet bride and I, spent all day driving West, heading for California, and never left the state. That was before they had interstates and I was amazed what a bunch of real estate there is in Texas. By the way, your state has the best travel guide, available at the entry rest stops, that gives you a run down on every city, how they were settled, what they have to offer and such.

Enough of blowing smoke for Texas, now when are you going to become one of us, so we can share a campfire toghther? Build a Teardrop, tiny travel trailer, convert a cargo trailer, or just go out and buy a used or new one. There are about 7000 of us, who are really a bunch of friendly small trailer enthusiasts and hope you plan to join this happy bunch of campers.

Roly, 8) ;) ol' teardropper in So Calif.l

Welcome and get ready for the South Central group!!! A great bunch of people, not just Texans. You'll find lots of good people there in your area too, and although it's hotter than h3!! right now for building, I hope you can seek out someone around to take a look , or find some folks camping in your area soon.

It's so great to see one in person .... lay down in it, lift the hatch, look in the tongue box and join us in potluck too ! It helps so much to see one in person , and see how camp is set up .

No kidding! I've been out in the 100+ temps all day working on my build. The (normally) balmy 82 degree indoor temp feels like an ice box by comparison.

Welcome to the madness, David.

Welcome too - I've had to close the garage door and open the house door to cool the garage!
