WEEELLLL, its about time that it started looking like PROGRESS has been made Now the Real Fun starts!! With spars,roof,and doors--you be able to camp in it even though its not completed. Are you pulling it to Va. in two weeks??

Thanks for the encouragement! Yeah, the kids are great, and they are really taking ownership in their part of the project. They had a blast yesterday climbing around in it.

Hey Al,

Thanks again for letting me be part of your build. That was allot of fun. The kids were great too. I did not realize how late it was when I left. I guess Teardrop time takes some getting use to.

Anyway just a few things to think about. The slider rail that you have is white pine. I think that it should be harder. Maybe oak?. Maybe yellow pine? Also the bunk for the kids is also white pine. You may want to test this with them on it to make sure it does not deflect too much.

Please remember to check out Skycrafters in Orlando when you get there. They are just off of the Fairbanks exit. East side of I-4. Look for the space ship and rockets on the side of the building. You can see it from I-4 when you head east toward Daytona. You will not see it if you are headed west toward Tampa. If you want to pick up about 12 of the jumbo white LEDs lights. We can make some puck lights for you TD like another member on this forum did. If you do not want to use them I will give you your money back. I guarantee you will find something you want or need in that store.

Cannot thank you enough for all of the help! It was a lot of fun and we made a lot of progress. I will definitely call you after we get back from Florida. I have two stops I want to make on the trip - The Coleman Outlet store in St. Augustine and Skycrafters in Orlando!

There was recently a thread on the forum here about Skycrafters. Funny thing, I remember passing it several years ago, when we still lived in Tampa, thinking "There's an interesting looking store", with the flying saucer and all that.

I'll call or PM when we get back. The kids had a blast helping, too.

I don't know about you, but it looks like the kids are getting a standie. At least for a few years.

Yeah, its really cool, its just their size. Like a clubhouse, you know. They're thrilled with it, and it isn't even built yet. They asked me: "Can we go downstairs and finish the camper tonight, and go camping tomorrow?"

Plus all of their "ideas".

1) Doggie door for our little pooch.
2) Three individual toy compartments to store each ones' respective toys.
3) A fireplace, so we can still do S'mores, even if it rains.
4) A staircase and 2nd compartment on the roof.

My oldest one keeps bring screws and stuff she finds on the sidewalk, saying: "Look Daddy, we can recycle this in the camper".

They're a lot of fun! Keeps me enthusiastic about the build, interacting with them.

Stopped by the Sportsman's Warehouse in Columbia, SC on the way back from Florida and picked up a Chuck box. They sell for $99 and fold up into a box.



My plan to incorporate it into my Weekender for 5, because I will have less cabinet space in the camper, due to the sliding bunk bed. I am thinking I can use the chuck box to keep the kitchen stuff organized, use it on a table in conjunction with the TD galley.

Now that we are back home, need to get back to work on the Weekender for 5, after a 2-week break!

We just got thru with the community supper at the Shenadora gathering, not as big as the Racoon Hollier gathering supper, but great anyway. I'm STUFFED!!! Wally and I was kinda of thinking that you guys(ya'll) would might make the trip up but I know you probably saving to finish your teardrop. Wally says you missed a GOOD TIME.
