I think a Friday "icebreaker" is a great idea, what a great way to met new friends. Should movie be vintage or are newer ones in the mix?

Parade and Wine & Cheese

Postby JOHNFROMINDY » Mon Jun 22, 2009 8:42 pm

Scott,

The parade sounds like a good opportunity to introduce more of the world to the wonders of TEARDROPS :miriams: :) . What is the purpose of the parade? It is a week late for July 4th. We are considering joining you for Saturday night, but have a couple of other issues to resolve first. When do you have to know? I think we will join you for sure on Sunday for the parade(weather permitting).

Kurt,

I think that the wine & cheese is agood idea, but maybe as you suggest, better for Friday evening. When we were wintering in Florida, we had a wine & cheese party once a month, and they were a huge success. There is no need to limit the menu to wine & cheese: any beverage will do(with the focus on wine :tipsy: ) and for food don't feel limited to cheese. We would have all kinds of "finger food", meatballs, sandwiches, veggies, as well as many kinds of cheese :applause: :applause: . Let your imagination be your guide

It's the Hancock County fair, I was watching it last year and it struck me kind of been on my mind since then. My kids are looking forward to riding inside while the wife pulls it. I think I'll camp alone Sat night though

I'd probably say if I gave them the count end of next week or bringing of the next we'd be fine .

Here's the updated map
Mike from IL/WI State line was booked on site 16 when I went to the booking site it's now available. Anyone know the story

Also Sites 10-Al & Liz from IL and 60-Dan & Laura from IN say Partially Available when I plug in Friday and Sat nights might need to check on that unless you have only one night planned.

Only 5 sites book with people we don't know, we have 2 people I don't have sites for and if Mike moved to one of the sites that means there's only 2 future teardroppers booked into the area as of now.

Lets fill it up as the dates get closer they'll start filling up fast.

AH HAH !

So it WAS you !

Actually the design committee ( you have met her haven't you ? ) has yet to tell me what and where to put them. We are trying to design a 20 x 40 barn at 1/4 scale so a few small barn sashs are planned I am just trying to get it campable by the 12th and I am running out of time.

But you know all about that don't you !

A/C will go in behind a faux roll door and a few real small (9" x 9" ) windows I hope to install If not it will just be dark and cold not all bad after Madison and 98 degree sunshine and a damn security lite just overhead shining thru my see thru roof all night. It was the only time I ever remember wearing my sun glasses to bed

As to the night before we have our fingers crossed.

Back to the Chain O' Lakes gathering...........

I have been in contact with Kurt about an idea I had and he thought it was good enough to toss out.

Since we get visitors ( generally mid day Sat.) who may not have a build completed or are just thinking about starting what if we listed items we had to donate to a gently used pieces and parts and/or xtra camping stuff for a drawing. There is too much going on at the pot luck dinner with the door prizes and food and movies so the "teardrop stimulus plan" could be held at noon or there abouts so the visitors just planning to stop thru can be present for the drawing. An item can be offered and any and all of us who may be interested in THAT item can draw numbers from a pot and a similar pot will be prepared to select the lucky number.

for example I have 2 small stainless sinks out of a truck topper, a coleman 2 burner white gas cook top, numerious 6 volt camping lantern and flashlights and an ozark trails dinning gazebo I will probably never use again and I would rather donate it to help out others in our group than even getting a couple $$ in a yard sale.

Kurt has assured me the door prize give away will happen this gathering as well , however these are generally new items and the above drawing will in no way compete with the dinner door prize give away! It is just a way of recycling the stuff we have drawing dust and a way to give the folks that need the items a way to save a buck here and there.

I am tossing this out as an idea if we all have an item or 2 and folks get behind it I will volunteer to coordinate it.

SO WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK ??????
