Sad News From Finland

Postby Classic Finn » Mon Jun 29, 2009 12:28 am

Dear friends from around the world.

Its been a sad time here lately thus please forgive us for not being on the Greatest Forum that we here love so much.

A longtime ago I posted a thread were I finally met my real mother and sister from Australia. Well mom was hospitalized and bed ridden for 2 years with different ailments. Mom died here in Finland.

She passed away real quickly and Ive been to my native city of Tampere to take care of moms funeral arrangements and personal things "alone" due to the fact that her brothers and sisters which are my blood aunts and uncle wouldnt lift a finger to help. I dont know why that is since I dont know them at all.
I didnt have a chance to really get to know my mother either but since Im immediate family according to law I was called upon to make arrangements and take care of final matters.

The funeral is on the U.S. 4th of July. Sad thing about it is that its only myself and my wife and boys attending. Its just too far and too costly for my sister to fly over from Melbourne, Australia. And to top it all off my sister new mom and was by far much closer to her than I was since we were both raised up worlds apart.

Its been tough for us here mind wise but this needs to be taken care of by someone, and that someone is me. As Im writing this Im in Tampere at present which is 200 kilometers away and Im using a friends computer to give you this news.

Please bear with us, we havent fogotten any of you and we,ll get back at a better time. After all this is taken care of.

My lifes puzzle has been put together now with a sad heart. Lots of questions also left unanswered. But all I know is that moms pains and troubles are no more. I just cant seem to express my feelings in words even though Im trying to do so. It just seems I lost her two times in my life. This being the second.

Rest in peace mom.

Oh Heikki, my heart goes out to you. What a wonderful son your Mother had, to care enough to take care of her final needs. It is truely a mystery, why fellow siblilngs don't step up to the plate and do what is expected of them. Losing your mother is a heart-wrenching occurance, and I sure hope all goes well and that you can regain some sort of peace in your life once more. As you probably know, I lost my sweet Ollie almost 2 months ago and I miss her dearly.

May your heart heal quickly from your loss. I know the pain you are feeling and I just don't know what to say to diminish it. Losing a close loved one, is a tragic thing, and I do wish the best for you and your family.

Be well, and give my best thoughts to all at your end.
Roly, offering my heartfelt condolences. :(

Heikki, you have done all that you possibly can do. You are a fine example of what it means to be a man, a son, and a thoughtful, giving human being.

You will be glad to know that many of your friends here were wondering where you'd been and surely they will be glad to see that you are back... after, of course, the time it takes you to get home.

Heikki,

You know our best thoughts and wishes go out to you in your time in need. We're all very saddened by this news. Stay strong.
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

We, your Teardrop family will be happy to stand with you Heikki. Sometimes families are so slow to see the good people can become they loose a precious gift forever. I hope you will look forward and know that your family will not follow that path because you set a wonderful example.

May the Lord Bless you and keep you in his loving care.
