trailer frame from Datsun Pickup

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I didn't find any posts with this specific topic when I searched...

I was thinking of building a TT using a trailer that was fabricated from an older Datsun pickup bed. I would discard the box and just use the chassis. I would appreciate any thoughts from anyone, especially someone who has tried this.

thanks in advance.

too heavy.

Also, the pickup frame probably doesn't have flat rails to build on.

a clapped out pop up camper is probably one of the better "freebie" starter frames I have seen, but there is usually a good bit of work there to get them where you need them.

Personally I think the Tractor Supply Carry-On trailers are the best bang for the buck overall as a foundation. gusset the tongue and you are in business.

In my opinion, the odd-ball metric bearings/seals on the Red Chinese trailers are a deal breaker.
