Newbie from NJ

Hello all,
My name is Rose, and I'm a camp-a-holic.
Sorry. Wrong intro.

Anyway - My husband and I have been camping out of a 2004 Fleetwood pop up trailer for the last couple of years. It was a great unit for a couple of years, but now his oldest is out of the house, his youngest isn't into camping, and the darn thing done sprung a leak last year and we're having trouble getting the warrantied roof replaced (they agree that it's their fault - just haven't built enough replacement roofs).

I grew up camping in everything from tents, to pop-ups, to hard body trailers. My husband was mostly tenting growing up - and our first trip away was canoe camping in the Okeefenokee Swamp. We can camp with lots, or little. And we're also newbie Dutch Oven users - so any tips, recipes, or general chat there is also really welcome.

We've been talking about a teardrop for a while, but now that our current trailer is ticking us off, and the nest is mostly empty (the younger boy lives mostly with his mom), the time just might be right.

We've started looking on the net, but would love to see some trailers in person, and would love to hear some of your "I wish I woulda...." and "Next time I'll...", and especially your "Oh! Don't EVER..."

We're located in South Jersey - 15 minutes east of Philly.

Image to the playground Rose. I am surprised some of the Yankees haven't chimed in here. If you go to the North East forum http://tnttt.com/viewforum.php?f=10 You will be able to keep up with the camping gatherings in your area.

There are some thread of what not to do/what to do different. One is in our Polls forum..... I am supposed to be mowing the "lawn" soooooooooo.

Have fun and dig up a camera. ;)

Rose,
Welcome aboard!
Geez, we're almost neighbors? :?

Iffin you keep surfin around the "net" your bound to find the TearJerkers.
They have "Gathering"s" and your going to see all kinds of trailers and a most decent group of people.

It's a "camping" club kinda with no dues or written rules, just good fun.

There's a "Chapter" right across the Delaware crick called "Liberty Bell", check them out. It's gunna be worth the trip!

Yur neighbor to the North :D

Welcome, Rose, from sunny Phoenix, AZ (current temp: 114.6º)

Are you looking to build, buy, or what? (there's bound to be other options  )

Either way, all the info and helpful folks you could ask for are on this forum!
God Bless

Cliff

We're still debating the buy/build thing.

See - we're skilled enough - I don't have any concern there, but right now, in the rafters of my dad's garage is a 17 foot 2 dimensional CLC sea kayak - I say 2 dimensional because it's still in pieces of plywood, life got in the way and we never got around to making it into 3 dimensions.

We've also got a WWII era Old Town cedar/canvas canoe that we need to restore.

Until we get a handle on how much junk we need to get rid of to turn the garage into a shop, instead of a boathouse (4 kayaks live there regularly), we can't build a birdhouse. 8)

Oh, and 114.6? Yikes. We actually honeymooned out your way a couple of years ago - flew into Phoenix, did the train ride to the canyon, the dam, Sedona. Nice country - but when people say "It's not the heat, it's the humidity" they haven't been in Phoenix.
