RV parts heaven...

Postby mikeschn » Sat Jul 11, 2009 7:35 pm

On our day trip today we went to a surplus RV parts place...

Here's a few snapshots of what it looks like...

Would you believe we couldn't find any windows in the size we needed, that we liked...

Oh yea, we bought those wheels and tires... we'll use them on the next build!

No, I didn't see any black one... but you could always keep an eye on their inventory... it's constantly changing... or give them a call. Here is their ebay store.

If you don't mind my asking, where is that store physically located, Mike? I might want to make a run there to pick up parts.

Thank you. The place is on US 127, which is only about 2 miles away. Unfortunately, it is on a stretch of US 127 about 210 miles north. Ah, what the heck - road trip!

I need a new Avatar. I'd put my dog up there but she doesn't look much like me. She's the skinny one.

I'm looking for three or four 10 X 20 (approx) '50's vintage Stehr windows... or however that manufacturer is spelled...

I want two or three in the tear... one forward-facing if I can get the height postition right aesthetically... lol (hard to do with a tear, it seems). And another as a spare.

Anyone have a line on where to buy some of those?

Thanks!

Edit: While looking for the correct spelling of that window maker, I found this site which is an index for RV salvage yards across the country...

Here'a another index of RV salvage sources:
