Hi There!

Postby yuskis1 » Mon Jul 13, 2009 4:15 pm

My name is Adam. Me and my wife Ashlee want to build our own teardrop trailer. Ever since we saw the tv special on the travel channel, we got the bug. She loves to camp and im just getting tired of all the hassles of tent camping so this is a great idea to make us both happy. Thankfully I have my brother in law and a bunch of friends to help with the build since ive never done anything like this before.

wish me luck!

Adam and Ashlee... welcome ! You've found a wealth of information already by finding this website... Here are some of the best plans, help , info and camping friends you'll ever find!

It's easy to get overwhelmed , but my best advice is to see one in person , either someone in town, or a local campout (don't be ashamed to show up with a tent) ... pick up the hitch, lay inside , raise the hatch... and have Ashlee do that herself to , to see how easy lifting the hatch is (not the hitch, that's what you are for!) haha

Most of all HAPPY CAMPING... if you've been tenting it, you'll love a teardrop !

Julie

Adam, welcome to the forum, you will find lots of info and friendly folks here. Rockford, ah yes, I remember it well. I hail from Loves Park, but worked in the 'big city' for 4 years or so. When you finish with the tear, check out Rock Cut campground. They have built a lake there since I was wooing my sweetie there, about 1948 or so. I think they call it Pierce Lake now.

There is a teardropper that lives in Loves Park, you should try to get in touch with him, here on the board. He goes by the name of "Claw", check him out.
