Nothing fancy,... I used this to secure our eazy-up also.

That looks great. Something simple is what I want too. I do not have welding equipment or skills. Did you buy the flag holder or have it made at a welding shop, or make it yourself?

Hmm that would be a really simple way to setup a portable Ham HF antenna. Always wanted a portable ham shack.

only problem would be finding a way to store the antenna mast while travelling...

ive seen a lot of TD campers setup a privacy tent on the side of their TD.

How about using it for a bumper dumper...?

Okay, I'm late to this discussion but..
if you had the receivers as part of the frame and use the 'pass-thru' style receiver (cargo tray to boat hitch)

1) you'd be able to have an awning, with antenna or flag pole to the outside.

2) a privacy room AND an awning, on the same side, just add a lite receiver behind the door and remove the privy room for full "patio"

I like this place...lotsa stuff to think about..

Like all of the posts, I am going to put reciever pockets all over the tear I am building 2" for the corners and then some 1" for removable leveling legs. Just to many options to not have on the build.

Has anyone built removable leveling legs for one of these or am I trying something new? I think they will probably cost more than the sissor jacks but have more adjustment. Since I have access to lots of scrap metal at the shop it does not cost me anything to build with lots of metal.

I just use a scizzor jack on the side that is low ( for leveling purposes ). The other side is already anchored by the wheel.

so,....would two 17' canoes float my TD? I know it is light..... I guess two of these would do the trick with 800# capacity each

now to figure out how to make the transition quick and easy.....so that the wheels would work on the boat ramp until the canoes took over...it would be wide..and need a tongue extension....but you could step out the td door right into a canoe...a deck across the back for the motor/galley...an amphibious TD ! (still trying to figure out how to lift the trailer so the wheels aren't in the water the whole time)

Just to breathe more life into this neat old thread I found this today......







A little tiny home made "catagory zero" reciever and drawbar.

1 1/4 x 1/8 angle is only about 5" long the safety chain loops appeare to be 1/4 " round rod and the reciever tube might be 1 1/2" square tube.

I wish I had put something into the picture for scale. It's tiny but well made and would hold several hundred pounds !

after reading over this thread about all the uses for the extra receiver hitches the one that jumed out to me the most was how thrifty it would be to build the main frami of your trailer cause if you planed it out properly you could have a trailer made up of a bunch of cut offs that you could get for next to nothing or possibly even free so sure the frame might be a little bit heavier it'll most definitely be stronger

After reading the post I would like to offer an alternative that we are using. We have three tarps that attach with Kedar rail to three sides of the tear. The Kedar rail is UV stabilized plastic and attached with 3M VHB tape. The goal was not to have a not so easy up

The only needed supports are tent poles and stakes. there is a great deal of flexibility in how it is erected.


The system worked very well at Boogie in the Hills with its usual thunderstorms.
