Inkjet White Waterproof Vinyl

My graphics paper finally came in. it’s a printable waterproof white vinyl found athttp://www.texascraft.com/hps/
How can an inkjet media be waterproof if the ink itself is water-soluble ?
The ink is trapped onto the media. The concept is similar to what happens if you spill fruit juice on white cotton fabric, such as a T-shirt. The dye molecules get trapped in the cotton fibers and cannot be removed easily. For UV protection they recommend the LLA5000 for this media - 12 OZ Aerosol can with fine mist spray nozzle. Using an over laminate will greatly extend the life of the label; especially an over laminate with built in UV barrier. Now to do something with it!

Comes in two sizes 8.5 X11 and 11x17

Time to add the UV spray – It’s not required, but does add extended outdoor life to the decal


Cut out design – you can trim this as close as you want, but since my camper background is white, I left a little more showing

Would it work for Photos?

Can you epoxy over it to make it permanent? Or would the epoxy have some kind of chemical reaction to the vinyl?

Yes, it will work for Photos - anything that will print from an injet printer will work. Don't know about the epoxy?

My mind is spinning with ideas. But my printer won't take anything wider than the 8 1/2. I suppose I could trim the 11X17. That would give me more options.

Jeremy and I have already had PM's about these guys products especially the water slide stuff. We're thinking we can make our own Coleman water slide decals for some of the really old vintage stoves with it, as the guy that was doing it is out of business. Nice find.....now to scrounge up some good Coleman artwork as well as some of the vintage travel water slide decals to duplicate, wonder if my printer will give good enough resolution on the detail. Mostly personal stuff is what he indicates. He was good to me though, sent me what he had and refunded the rest and explained that he wasn't going to be doing it in the future. I figured I'd never see the product or a refund but he did come through for me. Doug

There are some drawing and graphic programs that allow you to posterize or tile your artwork. I use MS publisher to make posters of any size. You could tile together several pages to make a very large graphic. FYI - the instruction say to use the Photo setting on your printer, however be sure to do a test - after comparing the photo setting to a regular print - the regular was just as fine as the photo setting
