Hello Everybody NewBe here under construction

Postby gbmetcalf » Fri Jul 17, 2009 11:34 am

I have a 1969 Coleman Pop Up that I am converting to a Tear Drop...
Here is one of my ideas. It is 10'1" long 4' high and 6'4" wide. I'm going to need all the help I can get. I'm not 100% sure I want to go with a wood construction or go with what I know steel and alum. I have a couple projects on photobucket check out my hotdog/chili cart I made and the double decker go-cart hauler that fits into a ford truck bed.

Hi GB, welcome to the board. Hey, anyone that can build a double-decker go cart hauler like that, should have no trouble welding together a suitable framwork for a teardrop trailer. You might want to increase the size of the wheels and tires that probably exist on the pop-up. Be sure to take pics of the progress as you go along. Looks like you are having a fine time, racing with those cars with your butt so close to the ground. Way to go, looking forward to finding out where you hail from and more pics and/or sketches of your proposed build. Good luck, and remember, we are here to help, all you gotta do is ask.

Hey all

I'm from Upstate NY a little town called Corning. if ya camp I know you all have heard of Corell ware dishes.... Corning INC. invented it.

Thanks for such a warm welcome. I was thinking that the tire size may have to be increased but I have very little room between the wheel wells, 49.5". If I make it taller i can build above the wheel wells and that no longet becomes an issue.
