Barry...the paint and primer choices are varied. It all depends on what your budget is and how "tooled" up you are and knowledge. Everything from latex to high end automotive paint has been done, from brush to spraying. It all comes down to what do you want it to look like and how much time, money and effort to you want to expend to make it look like that? There's no perfect method, just what works for you, just make sure that your primer and top coat are compatible. Note: not all finishes are created equal and some will hold up much longer than others. Doug

Two part epoxy primer is a first step $100 a gallon. These will allow your finish to last for a decade or more. Rolling.....marine grade paints by Interlux at $125 gallon..last forever? and easily applied with a roller to look like glass.... Spraying..... Polyurethane three part from PPG called ESS DeFleet. Durable, glossy, solid colours but at $250 a gallon. Due to the changes in VOC regulations in the last few years the price of paint has quadrupled...... Exterior gloss house paint Latex from the big box stores $30 a gallon and colour matched to anything you can scan. Latex matches the expansion and contractions of you trailer so is really a good choice for the economical builder. BTW I use latex house paint on my 36' mahoghany ChrisCraft and it outlast everything we have tried at any price .
