922 LED?

Postby mikeschn » Sat Jul 18, 2009 4:50 pm

Hey guys,

I need help finding an LED bulb... I've looked over all the links that Steve posted in the Index, and I'm not having any luck.

It's for the porch light on the side of the Generic ET... picture to follow...

It takes a 922 bulb.

Has anyone seen a replacement LED for the 922?

Obviously it would be better if the leds pointed out rather than down... ;)

sorta like the 3rd pic down in this link: http://myroadtrek.homestead.com/ledlights.html

Is the 922 a wedge base?
If so, would something like this work?

Mike, is there a difference between the 921 and the 922? I just checked my Barger incandescents and they were using 921s. There appears to be quite a few LED options doing a quick search for the 921, which uses the "T15 wedge base", whatever that is...but the 922...not so much.

I have done business with these people before and have had nothing but goo service. Good luck, I hope it fits. I notice another couple of compatible types on their site also. I think you got the blinding bright one coming your way!

FYI - if you buy one - then buy another for a replacement! I used LED's for some taillights and clearance markers and man - those things are neat - until one fails on you on the road - and then trying to find a replacement is indeed daunting. Now I tend to go with LEDs that fit an existing socket for a standard incandescent bulb - that way at least an auto parts store will likely have a replacement

Chell found an LED bulb at the autoparts store, so she brought it home for me to try.

Meanwhile my order from Superbright LED's came in.

So today, with the sun going down, I went outside and tried both...

here's the LED Chell found at the auto parts store...

and here's the LED from Superbright LED...

And the camera doesn't do it justice... the superbright LED wins hands down. It was so many times brighter...
