...thanks for the well wishes everyone...I personally have HIGH EXPECTATIONS for this surgery...for both the surgeon and myself...I am going to seriously dedicate myself too the rehab so be ready Harvey...my Doc told me I would be back to dancing in no time...I told him he was a liar...since I couldn't dance before, there is no reason to believe his work would make a difference :D ;)

For several years, I thought I was going to be one of those that needed a hip replacement when I got older. Turns out the ache was because my thyroid dosage was too low. Whew!!

Great news!

Watching you hobble around the campsite made MY hips hurt.

And you have your own private nurse, too.

Hey, I've never done a hip replacement but I could probably do it a lot cheaper than what your doctor is charging. A hip is a hip, doesn't matter if it's a dog, cat or human

Serously, I hope everything goes well and it helps with your pain. I had a friend who had his replaced and said he had wished he had done it a lot sooner. He threw away his cane.

But after the surgery, you may find yourself with an bizarre craving for kibble, and an embarrassing habit of sniffing butts.

You know, I've the utmost confidence that you might actually pull that one off successfully.

If we were trapped in a world far, far, away... and there were no "traditional" surgeon at my disposal, you'd be the man!

I'll hold off on getting you the pogo stick for this coming birthday.

Jack, you know a REAL man would just cut his leg off at the hip joint and slap a pogo stick on that side...adds a little bounce to your gait..
all kidding aside, good luck on that surgery, Bubba.

good luck madjack!

my God-Mother has had 3! and after each one she always walks better. Had one 30 years ago... fell breaking her femur and all kinds of stuff and had to have it re-done. then had the other done. she's awesome, and you'd never know she's had it done... except that she walks more and way better too!
