New members from Wisconsin

Postby ken and nettie » Sun Jun 28, 2009 8:00 pm

Hi,

I wanted to say hi, thanks for the nice forum and tell you a bit about us.

Both Nettie and I are in our early 50's and have been planning a road trip out east this fall. I have been smitten with teardrops ever since I saw a Camp-Inn (great teardrops) at the Iola old car show in 2002 or 2003.

We finally pulled the trigger and found a quality builder out of Wausau. He has a deposit on a custom 5x10 teardrop which we should take delivery mid August. I will update with pictures at that time.

I just noticed that my avatar has me listed as "teardrop" builder. Is it fair to assume this is a default setting for new members? Along those lines I did request the maker to leave the galley pretty much empty as I wanted to personalize the galley to our spec's. I am by no means a teardrop builder however

Now the wait!

Thanks for having us,

Ken and Nettie

Welcome, Ken & Nettie!

Congratulations on taking the plunge and getting a teardrop! We have a pretty good size group of teardroppers in Wisconsin. Their teardrops range from homebuilts, to originals, to a wide variety of manufactured ones. If you are interested in camping with other teardroppers, look here:

2009 St. Croix Tearjerkers Chapter Gatherings

http://www.tearjerkers.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1301

Tearjerkers is an international camping group of teardrop enthusiasts. The St. Croix Chapter is made up of Wisconsin and Minnesota.

If you happen to be at Iola this year, we (Camp-Inn) will be there with our teardrops, as usual. Stop by and say "Hi" - we would love to meet you in person!

Hope to see you at one of our teardrop gatherings in the near future!

I thought this maybe the case, thanks.

And thanks for the warm welcome! I will stop in and say "hi" if I make it to Iola this year. We live 17 miles or so down the road just south of Waupaca.

We had the opportunity to meet Ken when he stopped by to visit us at the Iola Car Show. It was nice to put a face to a name and we look forward to seeing his teardrop once it is finished and having him and Nettie join us at our gatherings.

Welcome! Badger Girl living in St. Louis here. Welcome! I am so in love with my teardrop. 5x10 is a great size. Wer can actually camp two adults and 3 small kids in it. (more comfy with less, of course, but we can swing it.)

Can't wait to see pics of your custom. Where are you in WI?

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

I have a picture of our teardrop WIP(work in progress). Todd from TCteardrops should have it finished a week from today.

Betsy, It was nice meeting you guys in Iola.

Dagny, we are from Waupaca which is central Wi. We lived in Pevely Mo for 19 years and moved back in 2002

Ken

The picture is the start of the teardrop with Todd standing next to it.
