I went out to the rummages yesterday and as I walked up the driveway, I seen this 2C sitting on the ground, all folded up.

She was asking $20, I offered her $10 and she took it!

Now I have another project for the winter! :thumbsup:

What an incredible find!!!!! Very very nice. Do you have the interior shelf and the heat diverter also? I've got stove envy... :envious:

No Doug, I was going to ask you about those things. Is the shelf sheet metal or a grill type? Do you have any pictures of what the shelf and diverter look like? Is it possible to repro them? :thinking:

According to them, yep. The tag on it says pat. applied for 1924, but Im sure that was from the original model 2.

I'll put up some more pics. I only have the shelf for it, the flame diffuser isn't there, but I'm sure one could be made easily enough. I just need to see one to duplicate it. The shelf is like corrugated steel, with 4 tabs to lock into the slots on the front and back when assembled. It really stiffens up the whole oven. Doug

Here's what my interior shelf looks like. Since this pic was taken, I hand cut a Coleman vinyl overlay and sprayed the original copy on the tank. Never did get the decals from the guy before he went out of business. I used an engine enamel...says it's good for 500 degrees, the real high temp paints aren't available in a gloss, so hopefully it won't cook off. I've fired up the stove, just never got the oven up to temp yet. I'm thinking, you could doctor up a shelf, maybe with some corrugated metal like the roofing stuff, I'd be concerned on the galv. plating however and it's probably too large, or you could use some flat material and a small cooling rack to get the pan off the shelf. Just an idea. I'm going to cook up my own diffuser, till I see the real thing.

The 2C has 2 positions for the generator doesn't it, 1 to preheat and 1 to burn? If it has the little cup, you are supposed to put some fuel, I use alcohol in it to pre-heat the gen prior to the real fire up. My 2E is an instant light however first model with that feature, 1930. Doug

Thanks Doug! Appreciated. I guess I have some time to plan out a shelf and a diffuser since I just got it! Getting the rest of the stove ready is the main thing. Ill look around at some metal and other ideas. After seeing yours again, I got the bug to do it tomorrow! Yours is GORGEOUS! :applause:

I didnt notice the 2 positions for the generator?? Ill have to look at that. The little bowl too! Hmmmmmm :thinking:

The generator and tank are mounted on a pivot, but its either where it is here, or the tank pivots up inside the case to close it up.

Check the little bump on the arms holding the fuel tank. Does it appear that these can rest on the edge of the box for a 2nd position, the valve on the right end also has a slot for movement. I don't know much about the really old ones, and they are all a learning experience. Check these pics on the 9D, same vintage. It may be similar. Doug

Don't know if I'd do that Dennis, but you'll get first right of refusal on it if I decide to part with it. It's the centerpiece of the "DougKraft gas pressure appliance museum" and is prominent in the living room. In case people don't know....I bought this from Dennis. Thanks guy! Doug
