madjack

I'M HOME...

...all told I walked about 100yrds on day two...this morning, on day three, after they removed my IV/PCA pump, I walked over 300 yds and climbed up/down a three steps to a platform they had for that purpose(I haven't walked that much at one time in at least 5yrs).

...the wound...I haven't seen it yet, as it is on the back side of hip/leg...BUTT as soon as I can, I WILL post a pic  :D
madjack 8)

p.s. I need to give a big shoutout to Dr Mark Dodson and the crews at both Mid-State Orthopedic and Christus Cabrini Hosp for their excellent care and concern they gave to Marlene and I...

p.s.s.s. I would be WAY MORE than remiss, if before I sign off, I didn't give a VERY heartfelt thanks to all my friends here for their prayers and well wishes...it must've worked   ..............your friend, Jack

:P

...checking in...I learned two things yesterday...1) I severely overextended myself yesterday in an effort to get outta the hosp(it worked)...and 2) I probably would have benefited from another night in the hosp...with that in mind, I took it pretty easy today...hung around, walked enough to keep from getting too stiff...I even managed to make coffee and carry a travel mug into the den...later, I napped and now I'm up and stumbling around for a while...seem to be doin' well otherwise.................

Madjack, so glad you are home but you better take it easy, you hear? You mind Poor Girl and do everything you are supposed to do. The more you behave, the quicker you will be up and out of there. Ok, Grani has had her say. Take care, we are thinking of you.

Hey Madjack, just like what we talked about in our PM, it's excellent to see you doing so well in your rehab! Keep laying down that foundation bud. Your efforts today in this very important window will pay off big time in your long term healing.

One rep at a time bro.

Those muscle wounds will take quite a while to heal completely. The pain will go before too long, but be careful not to over-stress the affected muscles for even after they feel pretty good. I did that, and it hurt again for several days.

They had me on the same "walk around-then rest, then walk around, then rest" routine because of cut muscles.

They taking the staples out this week? They come out pretty fast, and I barely felt them coming out.

...TODAY...tried the cane a little bit today...works well with the wobble but not so much with the webble so I will havvta stick with the walker for a while longer...one thing I DON"T wanna do is take a fall or put the joint in an unnecessary twist, causing a dislocation...continuing with the isometrics and easy walking is the way to go...

CD, one thing the voice in my head keeps screaming at me is, even though I might feel MUCH better, I am still only 5 days past surgery and I still have a LOOOONG way to go...as Jim pointed out to me, most folks are still in the hosp(real or rehab) at this point, so I will continue to work it one step at a time until I can just jump up and dance with the sun(or moon, ass it may be)

Jim, the day is SOON coming!!!!! :? :R
Dave, a bikini wax won't be needed, there are enough various hematomas that it won't be needed......

I was out of town/out of touch all last week and lost a huge opportunity to make a bunch of smarta$$ remarks at your expense. No Fair!

Glad to hear you are okay. What spa is the Poor Girl going to check into to recuperate from your surgery and hospice care?

I'll make sure and bring my roller blades so you can get around the loop faster in October. I am thrilled to hear you won't be having to deal with the same level of pain anymore. Take it slow, but heal fast.
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

...sorry guys, I guess I shouldda checked with ya first, it's just when the Doc said his first available date is the 21st, I said "...sign me up"...followed closely by "...let's doit"...Tony, smarta$$ comments always welcomed...Jeff, us "hippies" really have to work hard to maintain any sort of position of dominance and I think a 5# chunk of hi-tech Stainless/titanium/ceramics and plastics states that position loud and clear :D ;)

Hippies? Dominance? We old hippies don't do dominance. We do passive aggressive situational control and say, "It's cool, dude."

We may have to revoke your card!
