Howdy from sunny Florida

Postby robertaw » Sun Jul 26, 2009 9:48 pm

Hi, I'm Roberta. I've been hanging around here awhile. I love admiring everyone's rigs.

I don't own a teardrop or even a ttt but I like to look at them. I do, however, own and have an obsession with vintage travel trailers. My husband and I have our "tenement on wheels" (named for Cousin Eddie's RV on best movie of all time) gutted right now but will be trying to build her back up into something to be proud of. I'm keeping a blog as we progress. If you want to watch, the link is in my signature line.

It's our first rebuild so we're getting alot of help from what has been posted on this and other forums.

I always thought teardrops were cute but never really wanted one for myself until I came here. There are a couple of home builds on here that appeal to me in a big way!

Tiny trailers are more my thing and I will likely be looking for a nice Scotty to play with when we finish our biggie.

So far having a great time, learning alot, meeting alot of great people...how can you go wrong?

Hi Roberta,

Looks like you and Bob are having fun

Between you and me, I think you have the hard job keeping up with the Blog.

Where in Florida do you and Bob Live? If you're close to St Augustine, you're welcome to stop in for a beverage and some trailer talk.

Please consider coming to Anastasia State Park in November, there will be lots of trailers and strange people to look at. Even if you haven't finished with the trailer, you are so close you could make a day trip and stay for the potluck Saturday evening. Here's a Link

We would love to come for the day to meet everyone and see the cool trailers!! The Sea Urchin loop is all booked up but I'm sure our trailer won't be ready by then anyway.

I'll go post on that thread. Thanks for the invite!

Welcome to the forum, Roberta. Wow, you have taken on quite an ambitious task. Looks like you are well under way and know what you are doing. I just finished a complete interior rip-out and re-build in my short little 10 ft Kenskill Standy, and can't even imagaine the major job you and Bob are in the process of accomplishing. Do keep us informed about how it is going, pics and questions always encouraged.
