Hello from Northwest Ontario

Postby zipz71 » Mon Jul 27, 2009 10:02 pm

Have been wanting a teardrop for quite some time now. Finally started building a 5x10 this spring. The walls and roof are up but the interior needs finishing and the galley is just a piece of plywood for a counter right now. It's rough but useable, I plan to use it before I finalize any plans for the galley. This weekends project is to install the windows and hopefully the battery box and a mount for securing my telescope box across the the tongue. The following weekend I need to use it. Aug 7,8,9 is the trout forest music festival just up the road from here in Ear Falls Ont. that I volunteer at every year. I'm hoping to finish the interior and the galley after that and it's then I'll be needing ideas and advice.

On another note
I found a planetarium program for anyone interested in the night sky that will show you where to find the planets and constellations. You just need to enter the latitude and longitude of where you are (or going to be). It can be found at

ZipZ71, glad you found us, so welcome to the board. Good for you, using your tear before it is finished. Some wouldn't do that, but I would and have. Have a good time on your sky-watching adventure, my star gazing is through an empty cardboard tube from a roll of paper towels...........not so great.

Dryden eh? Well you can certainly see a lot of the night sky there with so little light pollution.
I downloaded a free app for my iphone called Planets. It's pretty cool and easy to use. Of course it throws off your eyes at night!
Welcome aboard. You'll have to come "south" to hit some of the other events.
