Cyclone Coaster ride

Postby emiller » Fri Jul 31, 2009 6:33 am

If any of you are into beach cruisers or just having a bike ride check out http://www.cyclonecoaster.com/ they host a bicycle ride in Long Beach every first Sunday of the month. I plan on making this gathering of bicycles in October. Is there a camp ground nearby to camp at.

This is the only one I am aware of:
Golden Shore RV Park
http://www.goldenshorerv.com

101 Golden Shr
Long Beach, CA 90802-4204
(562) 435-4646

It is close to the convention center and the aquarium so it tends to be booked up. Call very early.

(A bit pricey, but it is a prime location that would be very nice for a special event like that local bike ride.)

That looks like the one that told me they don't take our kind. Guard said I could sleep in the parking lot for $50.00 but I would have to leave before 6:00 a.m. I ended up at Malibu RV campground one of my favorite places to camp until new mangement raised the prices too high. I would like to camp at the beach and don't mind alittle drive to the bike ride.

You can try Dockweiler Beach Park which is on the beach at El Segundo. Downside is that it is DIRECTLY below the flight path of planes leaving LAX AND across the street from the main LA sewer processing facility.
The off shore breezes help but occasionally they get overwhelmed. :?
But it is right on the beach and a 20 mile bike path from Malibu to Palos Verdes. It is about a 25 minute drive to Long Beach except rush hour.

If you want to have a park to just stage out of I recommend canyonrvpark It is in Anaheim Hills area but within an okay drive to the beaches. Very nice accommodations and they do accept Teardrops. It is in the middle of bike route between Anaheim Hills & Corona. We do many of out dog events there and they also host some vintage truck things.

In a pinch my driveway is there, three miles from Manhattan Beach bike path and 15 min from Long Beach

That sounds good. I can stay at my parents house near Eagle Rock but no room for my trailer and barley enough room to park my truck. Thats why I want a camp ground.

Well Eddie, you know you can always stay at my place in Wildomar, which is about an hour and 20 minutes from Long Beach. You can't beat the price, and we could share a few TD tales. Lots of room in the covered driveway, full hook-ups.........well, elect and water, that is. Good luck.

I have that in my Outlook calendar as an event reminder, but never have participated yet. I don't have a vintage bicycle, but wanted to have a look at what everyone is riding.

Eddie,

I live in Long Beach, You are welcome to my drive way if you like, or even a guest room if you don't want to tow.
