Hey....that is really cool Danny! Mel would have done better in the Buick if he had a more streamlined hair do and those ears pinned back! That's just the best stuff to watch....the early days of rodding. Thanks for posting that one! I like seeing the guys that modified the belly tanks from WW2 planes for some of the early streamliners... and lots of flat head power in the early rods. A fun watch! Doug

I'm happy you guys enjoyed it even though it seems a little Corney now. Big ears and hairdo problems were big back then  . I found the link at Tri-five Chevy's for those who might be interested in 1955-1957 Chevy's :D Danny

Hahahaha... that heap today would bring $100,000!

That's an all-steel '32 Ford roadster!

Thanks for the link, Danny! I love these looks into our past.

Back in the late 40s, we couldn't get enough of the Hot Rod Mags. All of the real action was in Calif, not back there in Northern Illinois. When I came to So Calif on my honey moon in 1952, I thought the streets would be filled with chopped cars, T-buckets and belly tanks. Not so, I looked everywhere, and only saw one fenderless 32 Ford roadster, complete with Edelbrock heads, dual exhausts and tripple carbs. Had to take a pic of it, to show off to my chums back home. Nevertheless, I knew this would be my home someday, and when I got here, we checked out all of the fast tracks, drag strips and 1/4 milers. Thanks for the memories, Halfdome Danny.
