Hi all! We would like to come down from Austin for a few hours to check some tears out. We are looking at buying sometime in the spring but would like to see some of your tears. We have only seen 2 in person. Would it be ok for us to drive down and drop in?

Cost Info

Postby Cindy » Tue Aug 04, 2009 12:16 pm

I have not had any offers on my site. I am coming with Tyler and Julie in my van pulling Julie's teardrop on Friday.
I would gladly trade for 2 tubes!
I called about a tent and they said that it would cost me another $50 even though I had already paid for a site because you cannot put a tent on an RV site.

Here are the prices from the L&L website.
Tent Camping $25/nite/vehicle (2 people) 2 night minimum
RV Camping $35/nite/vehicle (2 people) 2 night minimum

Visitors - We do NOT allow visitors during summer season.

All vehicles which are not pre-paid will pay ENTIRE entry fee upon arrival at park. If the vehicle leaves before 11:00 pm on the day which they arrive they will be refunded their payment LESS a $20.00 visitation fee.

All rates apply per vehicle (up to 2 people per vehicle; each additional person is charged $5.00 per night)
NO PETS ALLOWED DURING SUMMER SEASON

When I reserved back in June, and asked about someone with me being in a tent, they said that was fine to put it on my site, but they would have to pay the $25 .

Cindy ... I emailed you ..

I thought of going to a local place and see about buying a truck tube, but think I'll just rent one down there. coupons online were only for Sun-Thurs of course... but one place had a discount for 10 or more tube rentals (that was on the comal)

I'm still planning on making deviled eggs for potluck and will bring either a cake or dessert

I hate to do this, but it looks like another campsite is open.

My TD is not campable. My wallet is empty. And, although the infection is gone, the wound on my chest has still not healed. Swimming in a river with an open wound that was recently infected is just not a terribly smart idea.

I haven't been able to work on the TD because of the infection -- I wasn't supposed to work too much in the heat and get really sweaty.

Soooooo, I guess I'll have to aim for Joe Pool Lake (at the peak of ragweed season).

I will NOT miss LCG IV unless I have one foot in the grave -- and I might even make it then.

If someone wants my space, let me know.

Bummer, Glen! Who will make the frozen drinks now? :D Kidding, but you did do a great job in Palo Duro. Hope you heal soon! We have some waterproof bandages in our first aid kit if you change your mind.

Glenn!!!! Awwwww ... that's terrible! I don't know what you mean about the wound in your chest... guess I missed something. Hope you're healing , and I know the empty wallet feeling .
Hope you could at least come down for the day... I think Tyler is sleeping in a tent or the van, I'm stopping to hitch up with Cindy and we'll tow my camper with her van. So consider coming down for the day or something!!! Sitting in the water wouldn't hurt would it?

And GREG ... how did you make those bottoms????

Julie, We made them with a mesh tarp, grommets and 200 ft. of rope, all from Harbor Freight. Took about 3 hours to do both, but still came out cheaper than renting or buying tubes with bottoms. (now if we could just figure out how to make head rests without looking too redneck, we would be good to go!) :)
