Well, this was the first official trip of Little Switzerland, a debut if you will. We camped for the first time in it over the Memorial Day weekend but the galley was not done. It's 98% complete now and I consider it finished even though I still have some things to do. We left the Dallas area on Tuesday and stayed in the Village Creek State Park in Arkansas. It was a nice quiet place to camp. The rest of the time we camped in family driveways but it was still camping! Little Switzerland's first public review was that the Swiss Society of Nashville's Swiss Independence Day Picnic (how appropriate!). It was well received. The tear towed great. I drove about 80 most of the way home and I hardly knew it was there.

We had a great time. :thumbsup:

How were the skeeters at Village Creek? I usually avoid it this time of year because of them, but it is such a beautiful park.

Well, we stopped there because of the recommendations from the thread you posted earlier about places around Memphis. It's a beautiful park and plenty of places to park. We arrived around 8 and the park office was closed so we just picked a spot and then went back and paid in the morning. It was $17 + tax. It was quiet and beautiful but the skeeters were out in force. Make sure and bring plenty of bug spray. When I went by the office in the morning they even asked how bad the bugs were. :lol:

I went back to look at my post and I did say that the skeeters might be bad this time of year. I was afraid that I might have forgotten to mention that important piece of info. :lol:

And, if anyone is traveling that area on I-40, do NOT stop in Earle, AR for any reason. The mosquitoes there are horrendous! I was with a group of friends and we stopped for gas one evening on our return trip from Memphis. In the time it took for one person to open/shut the door to get out of the car to pump gas, the car was literally filled with hundreds of mosquitoes!!! It was like a nightmare come true!

I'm not blaming you Susann :lol:

I must have missed the skeeter part but we would have stopped there anyway. We thought about some RV parks outside of Memphis but we decided to do the park. It was quiet and peaceful. The skeeters weren't THAT bad and the bug spray helped. I'm glad you recommended the park :thumbsup:

Reservations are for Aug 17-21. Some for sure stops are: Memphis zoo (gotta see the pandas), Memphis river walk and Mud Island, THE Mosaic EGG, Shiloh Military Park, and a few others scattered around - Guess I'll have to bring the ole' bug zapper and an extra pint of 0- blood :thinking:

Village Creek is a wonderful park....even with mosquitoes!

A group of friends and I caught some of the most, and biggest, bream in the lake.

The park is clean, there is geocaching available, and the staff is friendly.

Very nice Teardrop. Do you have any more pictures, maybe of the build time? Also some of the finished tear inside, galley area etc. It looks pretty big, what are the measurements? Weight etc?

It's 5' wide and 11' long at it's longest part. It's about 4 1/2' from floor to ceiling.
