Lilredakota,
Well the Porta potty was a concern for us too so after alot of thought, we didnt want it in such a confined area. We bought a Shower 2 room tent (one sides a dressing room the other sides for porta potty). My Tear has 2 doors so one opens right into the shower tent. Problem solved. Bought it at kmart for $50 in the spring. Everything is probably on sale now.
Good Luck,
Bill and Marijo :vroom:
Hope to see you on the road.

I have considered the port a poty tent bit, I will have to give more thought to it as I narrow down my plans and design. So far I think to save time and fustration I might go with the plans for the Weekender that I have seen on one of the websites, a cross between that and the Grasshopper. Save me from trying to make the Curves in front and back

You know, I had the same thought when I was in the planning stage and I went with the hopper style, but just a word from someone who's been there already, don't automatically rule out the nice curves of a traditional tear as being more complicated to build. In fact, with the hopper, you probably need to give more attention to how you're going to seal those seams in the roof line (I ended up using fiberglass tape embedded in epoxy on mine.....lots of sanding and fairing...ugh)

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to discourage you from the hopper design, as a matter of fact, I think it has a 'coolness factor' all it's own and I'm glad I went ahead with it. Bottom line is, build what you really want to build and have fun with it.....
:).....just my 25 cents worth

Hey lilreddakota,
You should get in touch with two of my sons who also live in Eugene. They both have built unique teardrops.
One is 'oregonguy' Here's his teardrop (still under construction)

and the other is 'Sawyer'. Here's his teardrop

I'm sure they would be more than happy to help you out or make suggestions.
