idea for taillights, input

Postby Aaron Coffee » Sat Aug 08, 2009 9:00 pm

Had an idea for taillights for #2, using turn signals from a motorcycle, can get red lenses, here are some pics. The lit one is just the tailight as I couldn't figure out how to use the brakes and take a picture at the same time.ImageImage
Thoughts, comments, etc.?
Thanks
If I could shut my brain off, I could save myself alot of time, money and effort.

I like em, but kinda think they are small. But you know me, big is always nicer.

Can you get LEDs for them? That would make them brighter

...would be cool...have had similar thoughts in the past but keep in mind, to be DOT legal taillights, you need 12 sq in of lighting on both sides...

I have looked at motorcycle tail lights as a third brake light on the hatch. The fender mount types are already curved and should fit good offering a vertical lens facing to the rear. The classic Tombstone types look best but more expensive than traditional auto tail lights . I haven't put the project together, yet. Just a thought.
