Hello Eh

As you likely guessed, I'm a new member from Canada. I have already made a few posts and recently realized that I hadn't introduced myself.

I am now in Ontario CANADA, and am looking to get a TD built yet this summer/fall. The first two weeks of Sept are already a write off and I am expecting to have to go away for about 10 weeks some time late fall. Doesn't leave me with much time.

I originally posted a squared off looking thing here but have since realized that I didn't need something that big. Once I started to shrink the profile, it started looking rather ugly. I think I've now settled on an 5X8 Benroy on an ultra light frame. Although that could still change. Since I am hoping to use baltic birch ply, it may grow an extra 6in to give me a bit more storage space.

Once I get things started, I'll be sure to post some pics for everyone.

Hi Dennis, with a somewhat belated welcome
I think that sometimes the planning stage is harder than the construction.Your head is a wash with ideas and wish list of things you want to have in your trailer, and you don't know just where to start.
Keep it simple, keep it lite and just enjoy the build, there is nothing more rewarding than to have someone ask, did you build that yourself.
look forward to seeing some pics

Cheers Dave

Hello Dennis

Just a quick comment, you said a Benroy, 5x8 if your not committed I would sggest looking at going that extra 6" you mentioned, I have a 4x8
Cubby and for sleeping even for two, it's great! For my wife and I anyway.
But, we have both noted that the 8 foot length limits the depth of the galley cabinets just enough that the drawers aren't deep eneough, for general storage. We have both said that our next design will start in the galley and work back into the cabin.

Just my thoughts, for my original purpose for my build meets all my needs, that is short over night trips with my telescopes, but when we are camping for more than a couple nights, the galley shows it's short commings.

Again welcome to the madness
