A Pirogue for my next project!

Some time ago I believe that someone on this forum posted pics of a "cajun Pirogue" that he had built. I was intrigued by the simplicity of the construction and have now decided to build one following the plans at a website..."Uncle Jon's Boats..." I haven't told the wife yet so I'll have to start sneaking in bits of wood and then spring in on her as a way to use up the "leftovers" from the trailer build...... of course she's pretty smart and will know somethings up! I don't have a swamp to piddle around in anymore, but I still want one.

We always had one when I was growing up. We kept it at the hunting camp mostly for us kids to get around in. When they finally got too old to paddle around in, they were used to keep refreshments in at crawfish boils -- lined with visqueen they worked good. (I grew up in South Louisiana)

Thanks for that......that's going to be a great help....I love the way he used different colored wood at the front/rear.
