Hello from East Texas

Postby cowboy at heart » Thu Aug 20, 2009 9:24 pm

I am new to the teardrop trailers, finding this site several months back. Printed the plans for the Generic Benroy and really liked the style. After lots of mulling them over, I decided to modify them for me, my teardrop is now 5'x10' with several ideals from this site. Since I am out of work at the moment, have been working steady for 3 weeks building on it, and love every moment I am out there. I stick about 8 hrs a day on it, when not looking for work, and about 12 hrs a day on weekends. All material now was free but starting to run out, if no job soon I will be stopped for a long while, but going strong now. About half way done with it now. will post pics as soon as I resize them, and get them uploaded, just wanted to say hello to all, and the ideals here keep me going and sometimes changing things, (wife not real happy with it taking all my time). Well thanks everyone, hope to hear input after pics are up.

hey C-A-H,
My little lady wasn't really into it til we were ready to "decorate". Then she came around some, then after our first Tearjerker's gathering, she Loves it and I built the galley mostly for her. She does all the cooking and has became a great dutch oven cook too. I set up, gather wood, mix beverages and watch food being made--I'm so LUCKY!! Get "Mommy" happy-then Everyone's Happy!
Til later by the fire--John T. & Linda 8)

Welcome from another DFW soon-to-be-teardropper.

There are a bunch of us in the northeast part of the state (and parts south and west.) Try to make it to LCG IV in October. That was one of my wife's and my first outings. In fact everyone made us feel so welcome, that the CFO gave the go ahead to build.

The teardrop won't be ready for LCG IV, but we should be there in a tent. Hope to see you there.

Hey Cowboy at Heart
You must be in Wells or close by. We are on Hwy 7 between 69N and 103 W.

It's nice to have someone else close by.
