Hello from NE Ohio

Postby doug577 » Wed Aug 19, 2009 11:36 pm

This past weekend we just picked up a Little Guy R/T from Little Guy in Canton, and took it directly to the campground. I think we camped on several of the hottest days of the summer so far, and it was still quite comfortable in the TD. I remember camping in the tent, and it being so hot in the tent ya had to get up by 8am to escape suffocation. Had a great time, and can't wait to get back out...

This forum has been very helpful as we've been lurking here for weeks. Just thought I'd actually post and say hello.

Welcome to the forum, Doug, I know you will enjoy your new Little Guy. I hope you get involved with some of your fellow teardroppers and attend some of the local gatherings spoken about on this board. Enjoy.

Great looking tailer! Where did you camp? We live in Nevada, but the husband is originally from Hartville and also lived in Akron. Still visit the family once a year or so and will be bringing back our tear at some point.

Doug

welcome to the madness, the forum can answer just about any question you can come up with, some times the answers anren't even teardrop related,

but your Akron, actually there are many Tear droppers in your area.
check out the TearJerkers at http://tearjerkers.net/ and once you register go to the Buckeye Chapter and register there, Galen keeps that group pretty busy most of the year round, PA isn't far either and the LibertyBell chapter is quite active also. Heck, most of the chapters are active thats what Teardroppers are all about camping and ya can't do that without getting out there.

again, welcome, now lets go camping. see ya down the road sometime

Welcome aboard and congrats on the R/T -- I've never before seen pics of one in use.

You may want to start a dedicated "Little Guy R/T" thread in the Teardrop Manufacturers section and add pics and info to it as you do more trips. A lot of peops would be interested in seeing your experiences with it.

What's you tow vehicle? Did you feel the trailer much as you pulled it?

We made our first camping journey to Punderson State Park which is about an hour and a half away from us in southern Summit County. Figured that way if something went wrong we wouldn't be too far from home. :)

I have a brother that lives in Reno, NV - unfortunately I don't think we'll be towing the tear quite that far yet.

Thanks for the welcome!

Our tow vehicle is a VW Rabbit. Interesting, when we first started looking for something to camp in we started looking at popups, and we were told that basically we needed a huge truck to tow anything. This is one reason that we like the TD so much in that it's lightweight and still does everything we need it to.

We felt the trailer there - mostly when going over bumps in the road as the tongue changes the dynamics of the whole bump motion. But otherwise, it wasn't bad at all, and most of the time we wouldn't know it was there. (except that we were nervous with our first towing experience and watched it as if it was going to fall off or something!)

Thanks for the welcome!

Hey Doug,

Welcome to the forum. Nice looking trailer and tv you got there.

I'm originally from Strongsville, not too far from Akron!

Keep the pictures coming! :D

You really need to bring it to NV sometime (we are 100 miles from Reno). Lots of wonderful camping spots!
