Woody...it's near Lake Alfred...does that help???

Seriously, it turns out that we're practically neighbors. Davenport is about 12 miles from my house. We're between Orlando and Tampa, just off I-4.

20 mins or so from RATWORLD. That should about nail it for anybody in the entire world.....

Dale, I've been re-reading the posts and digesting it all again. You mentioned you have the HF trailer. What are you using it for? Anything heavy? How do you feel about it (under a TD with torsion axle and larger wheels) being responsibly pulled in a hostile environment such as AZ? Remember I'm not climbing mountains per se, just some rough hardpacked boulder/rock strewn jeep trails.

My name is Woody. Sorry I really didn't make that as clear as I thought I did. Of course I'm assuming your first name is Woody....

Woody2 (vegabond)

I have used the HF for hauling most anything, lumber, moving furniture, etc. and have had it for over 15 years. It's held up well. It came with 8" wheels though, and now they have larger, but I changed the 480s for 560s and it rode better. I've pulled it 70mph with no problems. As for a chassis for a td? don't see why not. lots of people use them.

So the HF is adaptable to the 15" wheels? I thought I read somewhere that it wasn't able to take 15". It would simplify alot of work if it did and would hold up ok. I see alot of them running around in the photo sections with I think 12 inch wheels ok.

I don't think you can get bigger tires on it. I don't know for shure though I don't have one. It would be easy enough to buy another axle from Tractor Supply.

...I am not for sure but to put 14/15 tires on it you may have to change out the hubs.....this has been discussed several times before and I don't remember the definitive answer since we built our own trailer

However, Grant says to check the backspacing...

Thanks guys, the links provided did not paint an encouraging picture for me. Better to check it out early on than commit to problem later on. I might be better off using my existing trailer and go 5' wide. Will think about it for a while......
