Now you have me "faffing" on using a trunk hinge on my galley.

Incredible work Dan!

Thanks Alan,
glad you are liking the piccies.

please keep any faffing you do a secret.
i really don't want to be the one who introduces this term to the USA,
unless its needed.

anyway...
my build time will be encroaching into the Dorset Steam Fair by 3ish nights.
Hey-ho !
can only go when its ready.

took a break from the door today & got 3 hours in with the jockey wheel, safety chain & fenders.
all cut out & waiting a bit of swageing on the edges.
Image
have put a flat plane on the rear & increased the width to 3" for the lights.

going with the old Lucas ones in the end.
Image
may put an amber teardrop light on the top of the fenders.
will offer it up & see when they are fitted.

will post more soon. (tomorrow all being well)
best rgds dan.

Much faffing has not put those together, at least for this Mercan. Looking good though, even if this Yankee has not figured out the fenders.

Dan,
if you haven't put a drain hole in the gas cylinder pan I recomend you do. Propane is heavier than air and will pool there if you get a leak. Also will keep standing water from rusting the bottom of the cylinder.

couldnt resist a quick mock-up.

will cut the holes for the lights when the welding is completed.

This is fantastic - I REALLY want to see this when it's done - being about 15 miles away does increase my chances, of course - if Dan is willing!

There's gonna be a crowd hangin' around your trailer everywhere you go!
You'll probably even get stopped on the road so people can look at it.

roswell build

Postby dandan » Sat Aug 29, 2009 5:43 pm

Just looked back over the past few pages & rearlised site members
have not recieved a reaponce from me to spsific enquiries.

please accept my apologies.

have built some strange things in my 38 years of shuffle, but not tried to
share it like this before.

without this site & its members, i would still be missing clay pegions in my spare time !

all the shared knowlage being passed around just demonstrates the teardropping concept which i aspire to.

have got 3 long build days before the shell has to roll.

thank-you all again for your patients, assistance & support recieved.

this build would not be possible without you all.

best rgds dan.
