shrew ... yeah, RIP. I haven't clicked on any news websites and don't have the TV on so thanks Jim. I'll pay my respects for a few minutes to someone that gave a lifetime of service.

RIP -

Not a very nice way to go - my Mom died of brain cancer. Just hope he was in Hospice care and had his family around him.

Chapaquidic, Chapaquidic, Chapaquidic, Mary-Jo Copeckney.........or something like that. How soon we forget. Someone upstairs surely won't. and I hope he gets his just due.................How could a guy let his shack job die in a car that is sinking into the water because of his drunken driving and not report it until hours later? Shame on him.. Just my 2 cents.

Senator Edward (Ted) Kennedy

Legislative trials & accomplishments

Below are a few years work of his 47 years in the Senate.
It is said he has had 2500 compassionate bills under is wing
while working for the people of our fair land.

111th Congress
110th Congress
109th Congress
108th Congress
107th Congress
106th Congress
105th Congress
104th Congress
103rd Congress

Note the compassionate theme that runs through his bills:
Ted Kennedy was a controversial man to be sure. But looking and feeling
the effect he had on so many people of no means, in making life more fair
and bearable for we as a people, speaks volumes of understanding,
kindnesses and goodwill for his fellow human being.

Just click on a few of the links above and read just the names of the bills
he introduced. You will begin to feel the effect of what this man has
brought to the health, education and well being for so many Americans
over his public service life time. I know history will point out his clay feet
shortcomings, however; the sum total of his works for the benefit of his
fellow man will glow favorably when the book of life is read and the
scales of compassion are reviewed, in my opinion.

Ted believed that education and health care should be available to all our
citizens to make us a stronger union and able to compete in the world at
large. Some elements of our society workings shouldn't be for profit. He as many
rational people are of the opinion that bankruptcy and the fears related to
decisions of for profit health care insurance, deciders of ruthless Rescission
should not be part of the American experience any longer.

What is Rescission
The practice of finding ways to cut people off from receiving health care
that insurance companies are contractually obligated to give to patients.
This is how the big for profit health care insurance companies please Wall
Street while cutting off services and killing Americans even if premiums
are up to date by these patients.

Health Insures refuse to limit rescission of coverage

Bankruptcy Fears
Terminations of Individual Health Policies by Insurance Companies via Rescission:
Insured, but Bankrupted by Heath Crises

My Reflection on what Ted may have been thinking on health insurance reform:
My questions would be:
What do the health insurance companies exactly bring to the table for health care
except getting between our doctors and our health care decisions and services?

Have our increasing by 100% over 7 year monthly premium payments
and ever increasing out of pocket percentages for health services gone to
ever bigger bonuses of insurance executives? Is this cynical type of
greed, what these companies bring to the table in the health care debate?

What do we as health care captive consumers in this 30% and going uP for profit
insurance racket get for our premiums except fear of Rescission (not being covered)
and monetary insolvency?

Are we as captive hostages to the ever increasing death profits of these
parasitic, laissez-faire, profiteering insurance companies, going to lay down
in a whimper as we give uP our heritage and last estate dollar to their
ever increasing greedy hands while they say no to our last chance for life
so they can increase their profit margins to please their wall street masters?

laissez-faire:
An economic doctrine that opposes governmental regulation of or
interference in commerce beyond the minimum necessary for a
free-enterprise system to operate according to its own economic laws.

Well it's completely fitting that Steve would enter this little "tribute?" armed with a long list of facts and information pointing towards Kennedy's body of work and lifetime of service. You are the king of thorough.

I try to look at a person's whole life, not just one thing they did.

Why?

Because that's how I hope people will look at me.
