Hello From Indiana

Postby tcmers » Thu Aug 27, 2009 7:39 pm

Hi. New to the forum, but have learned a lot already! I'm considering building a 4X8 teardrop, but am still looking through the designs and plans available. Leaning towards a woody with an aluminum roof. Love the lines of the original KIT. My wife and I are long time campers, but are finding that it's time to get out of the tent and off of the ground. Any and all suggestions for designs are welcome!

Hey tcmers,
Welcome to the forum and good luck on ur build. :applause:  I didn't have plans for mine but used alot of ideas that I got from other t/d's on this forum. It took 4 months work and under 1900.00 and I started with a TSC no-floor frame. My build/camping photos are here-- http://s215.photobucket.com/albums/cc145/panheadjohn60/ Take pixs while building--it helps later to know where things you can't see are.
Til later by the fire--John T. & Linda 8)

I spent a year and a half in Elkhart (St. John's Episcopal Church) and then some 16 years at Howe Military School......I was back there earlier in the year and the economic situation looks rough for the area.

TC welcome to the board! As a fellow Hoosier you have dropped in with a real active bunch. We have 3-4 organized outings (gatherings) a year and each one just seems to get bigger and bigger. Lots of friendly folk with thousands and thousands of nifty little ideas built into and added onto their rigs. Next outing is in October drag out the tent one last time and come see us but be warned the teardrop bug is highly contageous.
Growing older but not up !
