I'm Home !!! I can't back her into the garage, but we made it to the front of the house. I forgot to call ahead and have my garage converted into a drive thru so my son is coming over tomorrow to give mom lessons on how not to make a 2-car garage into a 3-car garage.

Steve told me everyone was tracking my progress and I see from reading that he's done a great job relaying some of my adventures already.

I drove thru Florida :rainy: Alabama :coffee: Tennessee :poop: Kentucky :coffee: :poop: Illinois :hammer: Wisconsin :coffee: :poop: and home to Minnesota.

Sandy,

Welcome to the madness!

You are in good teardrop company in the Cities and in the MN/WI area. Our regional group, the St. Croix Chapter of Tearjerkers (MN/WI) is pretty active, so if you would like to join us for some camping, please do! More info go here:

http://tearjerkers.net/forums/viewforum ... 3bcd7eba1d

We would also love to have you join us for our 6th Annual Camp-Inn Camp-Outt, September 25-27, at Juneau County Castle Rock Park in Mauston, WI. We already have about 33 teardrops attending but welcome as many as want to join us. For more info, check out:

Hope to meet you at a gathering soon!

PS - Steve, we will be honored to have your teardrop join our gatherings...we'll take good care of her! :D

I'm Awake !! I thought I'd sleep for a week but I woke up early thinking ~~ Today I get to start outfitting the Lady Slipper. Yes, that's her new name. As Steve mentioned above ~ I had a lot of time on the road to think of a lot of nonsense but the best thing I thought of is my teardrop's new name. I'm going to see if I can get a vanity plate made for her. Seeing a wild lady slipper in Minnesota is a rare thing. At the end of this post i've included a pic of a wild MN Lady Slipper I saw in the BWCA on my last wilderness camping trip. I think the name fits.

Let's see ~ Betsy ~ I have joined the St. Croix Tearjerkers and I do plan on attending the 6th Annual Camp-Inn Camp-Outt ~~ count me in. I'll post over there when I'm done here. I already feel like I'm in great company ~ Everyone has been welcoming and friendly.

It was hard leaving Steve so fast in Florida but my daughter is due home from Japan for 2 weeks (she has leave from the Air Force) and I haven't seen her since last November. I do plan to return some day for some fun in the sun ~ but maybe when it's winter here and not quite so hot there !! Highway 10 across the top of Florida is absolutely beautiful and easy to drive. I saw a lot of camp sites along the way but it was too early to stop. Of course, as I headed north in Alabama, I couldn't find a site for the life of me. As I was about to give up, I passed a Wal-mart that had a bunch of RVs in the back lot and I took it as a sign and pulled in. I woke the next morning to the RV next to me with 3 women trying to get their slide back in. Being the good camper I am, I volunteered my help but they declined my stupervisory capabilities. As I drove away I thought that's another reason I like my new teardrop.

I stopped for gas along the way and as I came out of the station, about five people were around my trailer ~ one taking pictures!! Yes, I opened up the Lady and showed everyone. Later in the day I was at the rest stop figuring out how to change my route to make it shorter and all of a sudden ~~ akkkkkkk ~~ a trucker was in my window asking if he could see her. I learned from then on that when I stop, get the keys out and be ready to open her up. Steve did a beautiful job on the TD and whenever I stop, I need to allow time for admirers and photographers. My main goal after being on the road for too long is figuring out how to stay out of the pictures.

I can't wait to meet everyone ~ Happy Trails !!

My brother is lucky enough to have several pink ones and a few yellow ones growing around his home up near Bemidji. We grew up in New Hampshire and had many pink ones growing around our home, there, too. They are a beautiful flower, for sure. Great choice for your teardrop name!

Glad you can join us for the Camp-Inn Camp-Outt in September! We're looking forward to meeting you and to see Steve's handiwork firsthand. I've heard great things about the workmanship on his teardrop. :applause:

Congrats! I know first hand what a great Teardrop you now have. :applause: :applause: :applause:

You drove right though my town too. Someone told me they saw a woody teardrop last week on the I10, I bet it was you and the Lady Slipper. :D

And dont worry, you will get the hang of backing it up. I had to learn also after I built mine. Remember, small turns of the wheel

Have Fun!!

I want to thank everyone for the warm welcomes I've received so far here and in emails. I've found a new family !!

I was along I-10 and it was a wonderful start to my journey home ~ Absolutely beautiful. I wish I could have stayed in the area longer so I know I'll be back some day. And Steve has visitation

I have to laugh everyone has their build notes and pics ~ Steve did all the hard work of building her so my build list has been designing the quilt I'll make for her. I've drawn the lady slipper design and am off to the store to buy material.

Easy Up ~ Check
Charter Flag - Ordered
New Sheets - Check

I'll post my quilt build in the laddies forum.

Hi Lori ~~ This is so Fantabulous ~~ We're so close !!

Yes, I'd like to caravan to the Camp Inn. I was planning on leaving on Thursday though, so I could go to the CranFest on Friday. I'll PM you back so we can chat.

I was drooling over the gathering this weekend but my daughter is home on leave right now from Japan ~ she's Air Force. That's why I had to leave Florida so fast. I've made my reservation already for the Cooler by the Lake gathering in April (site 12) and am crossing my fingers that there's no snow on the ground. My Mustang doesn't do snow well but my brain thinks I live in a warmer climate and I'm not letting go of the convertible.

I can't wait to meet you.
