Two weeks later...

How's that new joint doing, Jack? How's the zipper?

How far are you walking now? Are you going to go the way of Fenlason the Scot? Riding a bicycle for 200 miles in one day?

  ;) :applause:

...DOIN' GREAT   can do leg lifts and such with my right, pretty damn close to the left...walking near 1/2mile at a time, a couple times a day when I remember, shopping, cruising the stores and such...I often forget the cane when I am puttering around the house...my biggest problem is getting past that mental block, which has built up over the last 5 to 10 years as the pain progressed...I find myself thinking...you can't do that...it'll hurt, and then I remember...no it wont and THAT is a great feeling...by the time LCGIV rolls around, I oughtta be able to dance around the CG circle(probably will just walk it though)oh and by the way...thanks for asking

Sharon, that was part of my intent(besides mooning the world)...if anyone is in similar circumstance and have been putting the surgery off because of fear of the outcome, all I can say is GET'ERDUN...it's the best thing I have ever done for myself bar none!!!!!!!!...I will probably have to have the left hip done in 3-5yrs or so and when the time comes, I won't hesitate a second to have it replaced as well...let's see, new hips, maybe new knees and shoulder or two...do they do wrists....hmmmmmmmm maybe what I need is a brain transplant...my brain into a 20yr old body...lordy would I be dangerous

Missed this thread until now. Had a used one that was in from '85 until '2000 that I would have given you! If that one is too old shouldn't be long before #2 will need a revision (had the left done at 35 and revised at 50 years old). Hip pain has been a way of life for me except for a few years following a replacement. Probably wouldn't have slid into home plate if I could have known what will follow. You should have a number of years pain free. Hope you replacement continues to preform well and pain free.
