Hi all,
Very new to Teardrop trailers have seen a few around but was at a show yesterday & chatted to a seller. But at £5,000 for the one i liked Teardrop trailers Turtle 1500)i thought it was a bit much to spend at the moment. Plus the wife has said i've had enough toys for the moment as i'm just taking up Paragliding & spend £2,000 on my kit!
So my i found this brilliant site last night & thought i'd say Hi to everyone.
I'm now thinking of building one myself & wondered do any good plans exist, or does anybody do a CKD kit (complete Knock Down) Just a thought. Cheers everyone take care.
Gav.

Hey!

Greetings from the beautiful mountains of Asheville, NC on the other side of the big pond!

Check out the generic Benroy plans on the list at the top of this webpage. They are a full set of free plans in .pdf format. Also the design library is helpful.

I am in the process of building my first camper! It is a lot of fun and there are many great folks here that will help you and provide feedback.

Welcome!

Hi Gav ,
Welcome to the best building forum on the web-ternet.

It's great to have another UK builder on the board

Have you looked in the design library at the top of the page ? It's a great resource, and you can adapt the design to your needs . I used the the modernistic plans for #2 and made a few alterations, with the addion of the copper top.

The Grumman has a very similar profile to the turtle. 8) 8)

My grumman is about 1.7m wide , and its cavenous. I built it on a shortened caravan chassis as it seemed a very cost effective way to build.

We're off to Vanfest next weekend, I'm sure thats not to far from you. Give us a shout if your going.

I'm thinking about #3 now. Not sure what to build next

Cheers Dave

That's great Gav.
We'll be about from Friday afternoon til the Sunday sometime. We're travelling in convoy with a couple of VW Guys, and I think we're camping in the type 2 owners area, but i'm not sure. I'll pm you my number. I'm hoping to see a few other teardrop there to.

See you at the weekend
