Hey guys we are OK. currently the fire is on the mountain about 1/2 mile away and the small wind we have is at our backs moving it away from us.

Fire started on Wednsday, I live about 4 miles from point of origin and its finally got to us, its burned 30 miles the other way. this is a huge one

Sadly 105,000 acres of angeles national forest has burned. I do a lot of camping in there.

We don;t expect any problems at our house.

Us too, we are very happy to hear you are okay. We lived through two Santa barbara fires.

Looks like Gage will need to stay indoors because of air quality, as the main plume is going through Palmdale.
Keeping him and Tanya in my prayer as well...

Yea we have stuff packed up to go. I think the worst passed us by last night. The air quality is real bad, I'm sure Gage is staying indoors.

George!

Where's this "Ananda Ashrama" Temple in La Crescenta? I hear the fire has come close to it...

(I have visited George to look at his Camp Inn teardrop; he's up the slope quite a ways, but well-surrounded by other residences... and not on the edge of any canyon or ridge, which, gawd forbid, may delay any spread of any fire over his home...)

Instead, sir, may you be roasting marshmallows...

The ashram is about a mile from here. I beleive it was spared. Last night the fire dept. lit backfires above us and took the fire to mother nature.

This fire just kept messing with this section of the mountain so since the small wind was blowing towards the mountain they torched it. Its better it burned now rather when we have The Santa Ana winds now we will be safe for awhile. these mountains havn't burned in about 40 yrs.
